What's the best Hospital in Nakhon Ratchasima ?

I was browsing through a construction thread which diverted off into the major question of hospital care in Thailand .

No doubt ...... if I work my way through all the Threads here I might find someone writing about the hospitals in Nakhon Ratchasima. But searching like that could take an awful long time .

So can anyone tell me ..... based on experience .... what they think is the best hospital in Nakhon Ratchasima . Doesn't matter to me whether that's Government or Private although if it's Private and ludicrously expensive that will indeed matter . And I mean for serious scale care .

On the smaller scale - I have had accidents (eg burning my leg on a motorbike exhaust pipe ) and I rolled up to a little hospital in a place called Nonthai and I got wonderful help at a cost of 800 Baht .

But we worry about major things . A stroke . Cancer treatment . A fall and a broken leg .
What's the best hospital for that in Nakhon Ratchasima ?

    Decent choice.
Yet, like most Thai hospitals [private or govt], steeped in bureaucracy.

    No pompem after that.
    It is what it is.

Por Pat is an acceptable govt hosp.
St. Mary's for a private choice.

...or, find a more suitable choice in Khon Kaen. Better selection.

Tell me ..... whatever problem you have ... can you just roll up to the door at Fort Surnaree and ask for treatment ?

Or do you have to register in some way ? Preferably on a day when you're healthy .

...or Bangkok Hospital in Korat which is part of the Bangkok Heart Hosp group.
It's usually expensive for top-tier Intl care. You only have one life if you've got serious health problems, I'm talking serious (ie: potentially life threatening or diminished LT prospects).

If you can make it to BANGKOK, many Intl-class private hospitals to choose from but it's going to be expensive (possibly not be American standards without health insurance).

I just asked my Thai partner if she knows Fort Suranaree .

" Ooh yes . Very good but expensive . "

Problem is of course that it may seem awful expensive to a Thai - but reasonable to you and me.

    " Expensive " - doesn't tell me the story . Does anyone ( Pragmatic , thaimeme , Peecoffee ) have any numbers?
You know --- went for a broken arm , operation , stayed in 3 days , returned for 2 aftercare visits , total cost 8 million Baht , married the nurse . ?

First of all phone them to enquire as to your ailment and ask which doctor you need to see. Some doctors don't work at the hospital every day. You just turn up on the day your doctor works, register, and join the queue. Cheap as chips and good facilities. Not the standard government hospital but better but government prices.

Certainly wouldn't hurt your cause to register a hosp card - the full works.
Helps to cut through shit easier.

Bumrungrad, Bangkok 2013 - partial nephrectomy by laproscopic surgery / private rm 8 days , 24 hr nursing staff - THB 700,000.
No need for that level of service for non-life threatening illnesses or health concerns. I believe the surgery did what it was supposed to do. Should know for sure by end of 2016.
