    Bloody good it is.
    It is that.

Keeping a set of gear at home works well, just pick it up and do a few reps in between chores, or relaxing, etc.

A bicycle inner tube, a couple of hand grips and some 2litre bottles of water (1L = 1kg)
will give you all the weights and tension necessary to tone up, work out, get your heart going and so on.

I got bored of the running all the time so have started to cycle now the winter is coming to a close. A moderate 10-mile cycle after work yesterday, with vegetable soup and bread for lunch, proved to be just the thing to get the sugar level down to 2 pints of Guinness level!

So now it is 10-mile cycle 3 times a week and 3-mile run once a week to keep the Dr off my back...

had a day membership to a david lloyd gym here in the uk today, so proudly whacked off 45 minutes on the nordic cross trainer, 15 minutes on the running machine, 100 metres backstroke in a heated outdoor pool (air temperature 7C) followed by 20 minutes in the steam room.

Keeping calories down let me reward myself with up to a couple of pints of stout a day.

A half hour or so brisk walk is equal to a half pint of stout.

Callory restriction, eating 20-40% less than recommended for weight, height etc allows you to have a decent beer or two a day, also.

    Whatever, keep moving.

These last few months has seen me recuperating from broken ribs in November, resulting in a lack of upper body exercise hence all that good muscle build up stripped away, so now I'm back onto the exercise regimen again, slowly.

No running around Chiangmai (I don't run on concrete anyway) or brisk walking without a mask.

Good way to keep fit without the grind of long runs or cycling (static or normal) is using a punch / kick bag. You don't have to be a trained boxer or martial arts buff to use one properly. Just get a decent bag and fill with cloth rags (sand is too heavy), and install it somewhere with good support.
A few rounds of punching & kicking / day is great stress relief and wonderful cardio. Without the tedium of running or cycling.

Yesterday I finally joined the Lumpini Park Youth Center.

Fronted with a doctors certificate, Passport copy and a photo.

Payed 40 Baht for a years membership and walked out 10 minutes later with an ID.

Now I have access to the 25 meter pool and a fully A/C gym with all top notch gear.

I'll still mix it up with the local boys in the outside gym and just use the pool.

    " Amazing Thailand "

40 Baht for a years Membership, jokin ain't ya.

I went for a 6km walk. That I constantly interrupted with some pretty poor golf. And by walk I mean I took a caddy-driven cart.

It still counts so fuck you!

Cursing and throwing/recovering clubs can be classed as aerobic exercise?

There were some clubs thrown that's true. However, unusually, it wasn't by me.

The aerobic component for me comes from what I call value for money golf: I get to see more of the course than most when looking for my ball, some pretty unusual places too.
