I think with dengue you'd really know about it..

I understand what you say about Dengue Fever season, but it's this time of year when it's more likely to catch it.
    PREVENTION OF DENGUE

All efforts of control should be directed against the mosquitoes. It is important to take control measures to eliminate the mosquitoes and their breeding places. However, the efforts should be intensified before the transmission season (during and after the rainy season) and at the time of the epidemic.

Wife was sick last couple of weeks. i was sick just before it and today I woke up with no voice at all. So I guess she's given whatever it is back to me.

90% of my students are sick but the parents don't want them at home so I get sneezed on, coughed on and whined at my sick kids who should be home in bed all day.

    So I took today off..
I'd like to see what morning looks like
Don't wanna drink pint after pint
I wanna wake up without feeling sick
    But I can't cuz I'm a drug-abusing alcoholic

I caught the crud in a pneumonia-hole of a restaurant on our trip thru Zhangjaijie. Had a heck of a time finding cough syrup with Codeine in it.

We had a 15 year old die here a week and half ago. They said it was dengue fever. Nothing else since that time and everyone is fine. There's a story about bird flu in Indonesia today in the bKK post. No doubt we will hear more and more as the weather gets cooler.

As for that dengue rash, I got it once in Chantaburi. Started with little red dots and eventually it looked like I had a sunburn. Whatever you do don't take aspirin. I asked a Thai doctor once why Aspirin isn't used more. He said if you get dengue fever and take it is will worse it quickly. Actually, I think I took aspirin when I first felt sick in Chantaburi. I just remember lying there on the bed useless for about three or four days.

A bad case of e. a nonspecific, imaginary, or vaguely defined disease or disorder of the body: jungle crud.

I'm sure wandering around in the rain & fog on top of Mt. Tiamen (well, 999 steps short of the top) contributed to my 'crud'. Wasn't imaginary by any means as my poor wife will testify...

Correct. The weather here has cooled marginally. This is the time when bacteria and germs have to mutate and replicate to survive.
The onset of "rainy" or "cool" season however subtle the change in temperature usually spawns a lot of bacterial activity. Just drink lots of fluids.

Nothing more miserable than being ill when travelling.
