Well while being back here in Adelaide South Australia I decided to go for my yearly medical to get blood tests etc done.
I used to put them off in years gone by but common sense prevails now.
Most males it seems are reluctant to have regular tests for fear of what might be discovered.
The male ego of "I'll be right mate" prevails.
However as we get older, knowing if we have a problem and getting it attended to quickly is the smart path to take.
My blood test results all fine, cholesterol ok, but a spot on my forehead concerned my Doctor so he has cut a bit out and put the sample in for a biopsy.
Skin cancer very prevalent here in Australia with our positioning re the hole in the ozone layer, and few seem to escape at some stage of their life suspicion of melanoma.
Get the results back next week and hopefully it will come up benign,if not maybe a bit more cutting to remove the cancer will fix it this time around.
Not sure if this occurs in South East Asia, or is it just confined to Australia where from an early age us now older ones used to sun bathe and in many cases lose three layers of skin over a summer holiday break.
Now though we are warned of the danger and kids in schools have to wear hats at school to protect them, and we are all advised to apply sun block and avoid trying to get bronzed bodies as before.
So my question, is this confined to Oz?
I am a slack bugger in Thailand, against my wifes better advice I never put sun screen on when playing golf.
The results of this current biopsy though might just get me to change that laxity.
