Coca-Cola: The Best Drink in the Whole Wide World

I've been going cold-turkey on fizzy pop for the past month due to being in possession of an extremely healthy waste line, so yesterday when I partook of my first Coca-Cola in 30 miserably pointless days, my knackers nigh-on spontaneously exploded.

I had previously lined my ample stomach with a ham and cheese toastie (untoasted of course) from 7/11 and the thought of washing it down with something which didn't contain a spiteful dose of aeration didn't appeal. Water or Oishi Honey and Lemon could go swivel their arses on a rusty nail on this occasion.

I reentered 'the 11' with determined purpose...'ding dong..churn 7 ka'....approached the fizzy drinks dispenser and let rip on the Coke button after fillling the cup to the brim with ice. Bought and paid for, I took the drink out and sat on one of the green or orange reinforced plastic benches provided, pierced the cup lid with the straw and savoured the sheer beauty that is an ice-cold Coca-Cola.

And what's more, by and large they always tend to taste better from the dispenser.

Coca Cola - The Best Drink In The Whole Wide World....Ever..

And the cans always taste better than the bottles (plastic bottles especially).

The order of most efficient packaging follows thus:

    1. Dispenser
    2. Can
    3. Glass bottle
    4. Plastic bottle
    5. Fizzy Cola bottles
    6. Cola Cubes
    7. Normal Cola bottles
    8. Cola ice-pops

The new digital Coke machines have been out in the States for a while- you can mix-and-match hundreds of flavors of soda, flavored water, non-carbonated drinks, etc.- you'd dig it:

Considering how hot Thailand is all year round, there really is a serious lack of soft drinks here

It definitely has its attributes but I wouldn't put in the same league as Coke. Coke is customed designed for every single social scenario, the Manao Soda is perhaps best kept for accompanying a fig-roll during the early stages of an amateur game of croquet.

They tried selling Vanilla Coke in Australia a few years ago, didn't sell, it was discontinued. Same with Cherry Coke.

Coca Cola great for dipping your soldering iron in or cleaning old coins, full of sugar which puts it in the same addictive category as many illicit drugs. Should make it illegal for parents to supply to young kids.

If it can rip the shit off old coinage, imagine what it's doing to your stomach lining.
death by coca cola. Can we sue 'em for lack of health warnings when we were young and impressionable? They made it sound so good and fashionable. Start a class action right away.

Is there phosphoric acid in soda water? Don't think so.

One use I can think of for coke is when you wake up feeling that little bit queasy, due to a surfeit of bad things the night before.
Coke helps with that, plus the ridiculous amount of sugar helps lift you a bit.
The Thai habit of mixing coke, soda and cheap spirits is certainly better than just mixing with coke.
The great Aussie habit of bundy & coke is appalling- it tastes like paint stripper.
