Actually, in the States all the variants are considered 'french fries' regardless of size as long as they are cut into strips, though they are differentiated by style (like my favorite, 'steak fries').Originally Posted by Koojo

A quick pic of Davis' garden shed:
I'd call them 'chips' as oppose to 'french fries' in VFW - although crinkle cut, they are moderately chunky - one minor compaint which if dwelled on could be ungraded to full on cafeteria destruction - no bloody vinegar, you have to make do with that black Maggi type stuff.
Betty, I don't want to be personal, but does your posted lady friend Sona AKA S/GF need a shave? Now men continue with the interesting dialogue on Fries.
Being the VFW, they are actually called Freedom fries.

^ Socal's bird walked past in a minidress and distracted everyone while Meat (who has also got something going on with Socal's bird...) took a quick pic; he emailed it to me just a while ago (borrowed Papillion's new iShite to email it to me; Papillion also has something going on with Socal's bird - they share the same taste in men...).
I hope that clears it up.
French Fries (for poofs - Socal, Meat and Papillion love them...):
Chips (for men, Slaps used to eat these, but... ):
Cycling should be banned!!!
The old chip pan with the lard set in a solid lump, placed on the gas ring to melt. Then the plunge of the wire basket with the wet, freshly peeled, chips. The eruption of bubbling, boiling hot lard, a short wait, a couple of shakes of the wire basket. The tip out onto the plate. Add a sausage or two, some baked beans, a dash of vinegar or sauce.
Ahhhh those were the days.

Sorry Slap, I would starve to death
I am not fat, I scale out at 12 stone 7. It's my metabolism, that meal would cost 265 Baht
Having visited the US of A and the former mother country. And sampled the anorexic shoe laces called french fries and the cholestrol inducing oil logged cod n chips, thank god for the land of the overtaxed and the home of the over regulated where you can get the best Beer battered Barra n chips (Barramundi to you poor unfortunates who have not had the pleasure) The beer? Crown lager of course is there any other?

OK, I have eaten at the VFW and had apparently the same gross food in 1988, November. We had been supposed to meet up with friends, they did not show and got taken to the Siri Hotel. The Hotel was OK, not great, but clean, not too expensive. In the morning we went down for breakfast. The food was grungy food. Bad tasting meat, greasy eggs, the same salad dressing by appearance. Across the way were two apparently veterans with young women sitting on their laps. It left me with a very gross impression.
I have been back to Korat many times since then. It is the city I am most comfortable in. I stopped again this year by the Siri and looked inside. It seemed like the same people were inside. I could not take it. It left me with a bad feeling in my gut.
I would choose a noodle vendor any day over that. Just my opinion, if y'all like it there, go for it.
