I probably won't be in BKK again until December (before Christmas), but if Bobcock is buying (especially to prove a point) it would be rude not to show up...

I'm not a Guinness guy- I'll drink a Kilkenny, though.

Bob's buying?????????? then I'm in as well.

In fact the number of times I've owned him on this forum he could shout free beers for a week and it still wouldn't be enough.

What a shame about the Bull's Head. Nice place in the afternoons if you fancied a quiet pint and a read of the papers - the ground floor was a haven without the intrusion of televised sport.
Bangkok is no different to the rest of Asia and pretty soon the legitimate leisure industry will be totally dominated by chains or money laundering boiler room scamsters.
I think Sukhumvit started going downhill when the Beer Garden in Soi 23 folded its tent and The Ship died.

Back on topic, I never liked the Bull's head meself. Went in maybe half a dozen times, but didn't really enjoy the feel; seemed quite cliquey too. That's not to say it was bad, I just never much felt at home there - much prefer the Black Swan if I'm around that area or Wiches Tavern if I head the other way (when I lived in Thonglor a few years back, quite a few now).

Don't like the Lonodner either. Something about these types of pubs doesn't really do it for me in Bangkok. I reckon FP's place works much better...

Now, I reckon that Wales are a good bet for a run in the rugby world cup...

^ there's no easy draw, but you've one of the toughest groups... Hope you've a big squad because you're gonna get battered and bruised in that group. So, Australia in the quarters then France in the semis, it's not a bad run... You avoid SA and NZ who will probably be the two best teams.

If some kind TD member wants to take a few fellow members out for a quite drink i am in for a free drinking session.I would like to nominate an outside bar to start the evening meet. The outside area at the Landmark would be a good place to start, since i a married man can't afford to drink there anymore.Could head down to the Huntsman bar for the next round should be a cheap first few rounds.
Are you feeling flush with Baht Bob,we could find some more expensive bars later in the evening.
But don't think i am kin yeow,i will get a round in at cheap charlies or 7/11 which ever is cheapest.

I'll take your money too then.....regular watchers of the welsh game know that we have a hell of a task to get out of our group and todays result proves what I've been saying.

Maeng from the Pickled Liver just opened a place on soi 5 called 'Side Pocket' (it's a pool bar, but as she was responsible for the good food at PL I'm sure there will be an excellent menu as well)- plenty of the old crowd from PL will be there.

I won't be in BKK to check it out for a while, but if anyone else does please post a report.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Probably belongs to the Robin Hood owners now.

Apparantly will be reopen in 3-4 weeks under Robin Hood ownership.

PLUS Bulls Head apparently looking to open Bulls Head "2" in same general area. All good news for lovers of a tipple.
