Mid way down Suk soi 22,The Twenty two bar run by Ray and his wife Nok.
Used to call in there on the odd occasion in the late 90's as at that time i lived in the regency park but too many poms, jocks and taffs for my liking.
There can’t be good living where there is not good drinking

My local in Chiang Mai has 55 bht big beers until 9pm then it goes up to 80. Best run pub in town too and has 2 decent pool tables for free play. No bargirls but the chicks behind the bar are attractive and friendly. Blue Sky Bar.

BKK has been spent since early closing about 6-7 years ago.

It wasn't there in the late 90's, it was actually on Sukumvit Road a few shops along from 7/11 at the top of 22.

Bulls Head is shut already. Mysteriously 4 days early.

    Sad day

Yep, the landlords decided to play nasty and locked the Bulls Head up before they could have their big leaving parties.... sly fuckers.

I know exactly where original location was and when it moved into Soi 22
as Sukumvit was the location I visited occasionally.
If Ray wasn't such a tight ass jock he would have negotiated a lease to stay where was, as he did almost no business in the 22 location.

Out of curiousity for what is unfamiliar (to me) slang, what's a 'jock' in the sense you're using it in the above quote?

In the States it's an athlete (or something to do with your groin).

I'm taking a guess at "A Scottish person" - traditionally known for being frugal over matters relating to money.

Ah- never heard that one (though I'm familiar with the Scottish reputation for... frugality).

    Thanks for the info.

Are you buying? Fantastic. In Bangkok? I'm ready and waiting, but I don't like the poofy places, so suggest somewhere pleasant please.

Oh, a punch in the face and a good buggering sounds MUCH nicer than a glass in your grill.

Anyone else notice the distinct lack of a 'no buggering' qualification...?
