    Ban Amphur Restaurant

Well I finally found out the name of this restaurant, it is Sri Nual, been there quite a few times and never knew its name, it's a Thai seafood restaurant on the beach in Ban Amphur, just down the road is Malabar seafood restaurant which has now closed, no idea why that closed down as it was always quite busy, probably being farang run has something to do with it.

Ban Amphur is between Pattaya and Sattahip, you can read more about it here and look at photos of the beach. https://teakdoor.com/thailands-beache...hur-beach.html (Ban Amphur Beach)

Previously the tables were on the beach but it seems the beach has disappeared there and been replaced with herringbone bricks, no idea how they got away with that one but this is Thailand.

Anyway it's your standard Thai seafood restaurant, ie choose which fishes or animals you want killed and cooked for your dinning pleasure, plenty of tanks to choose from with lobsters, crabs and anything else you can think of.

They have a big screen projector thing about 5 meters by 5 meters which seems to feature the bee gees and that sort of thing, had to download a load of music when I got back for my girlfriend.

And onto the food, the first dish was shellfish of some kind in a curry, took about 30 minutes to arrive, liked the curry but the shell fish had the texture of what I imagine jellyfish to have, not very nice.

No Thai meal is complete without Tom Yum Krung

My favourite of the evening fried fish fillets, thats was real nice.

One of those real spicy Thai salads, I quite like them but couldn't eat a whole plate, too much lemon grass for me.

Gunge BBQ wrapped in banana leaves, she said it was fish, I don't eat stuff that comes wrapped in leaves.

Some dead fish, wouldn't mind catching a few of these with a rod, not dead, live ones obviously, anyway all in all still a pretty good restaurant apart from the fact it took about an hour to get all our dishes served.

Curried shellfish looks like scallops/clams, i like em slightly underdone.
The last fish look like mullet, very young mullet = full of bones, tiny throat sticking bones.
Looks like a place to visit, thanks

There is a wonderful seafood restaurant about 10k up Sukhumvit towards Pattaya coming back from Baan Saray. It is on a road that winds back toward the ocean and sits right out on the water. I don't know the name but damned if they do not have the freshest, tastiest and best prepared seafood I have ever had in Thailand. I will get some pics and a name next time I eat there.

    Seafood at Ban Amphur

The best Seafood Restaurant in Ban Amphur are Precha!!!!!
Everything is alive when you come. Then you select and the kitchen starts.
The have a small Shark Fin between 1,5 kg to 2kg.
Taste excellent steam with Chinese Soya souse.
Price 500 to 600 Baht (for 3 to 4 Person)

    1kg Rock lobster 600 Baht!!!

I went to Precha for the last 15 years, most customers are Thais from Bangkok.

Preecha in Ban Amphur is quite tasty, reasonably priced and excellent quality.
The Yum Talay, Tard Mun Goong, Bplah Pong Nam Manao and all our dishes arrived within minutes and with the exception of the Tom Yum Goong were superior to most other places. I only quibble with the soup because it was neither hot or sour (perhaps because I am farang) and Yum HAS to be both hot and sour (Nam Sai or Nam Khom) to be tasty. Great location overlooking the sea and can't be beat for a sunset cocktail.

It looks great. Are they just seafood? I'm always the only person in the rounds that do not eat seafood. And in 1600 baht for four people, including drinks need not be afraid of being poor.

I know Preecha serves lunch most days so I expect they open around 11.00 am.

Google is your friend. Their site says they open at 10.00 am.
