Could it be of the orchid family Nofuckideania? Looks a lot like it.

    It's a mushroom

In thai it is called Hed Kaar, no idea what it is called in English.
It only grows in one place- under a mai ma-kaar tree.
I think it must be quite scarce now because those trees are hard to find.
So has anyone else ever seen it ?

It is only available this time of the year and is one of my favourites and has a superb full mushroom flavour.
The MiL picked this lot today as well

If he eats them home picked shrooms he might already be in the oven at the WAT by that time MTD.
Some of them in the last pic look like them poison bastards that grew around my cabin in the Rockie mountains, no deer, squirrels or bears would touch em, even tho they was beautiful, so I waited and took a couple to town, and was told them is a NO NO.
