Thread: Jay Festival - Thailand

Well, once again we are in the middle of "Jay" season and William is on a veggie diet. I really like the noddles this time of the year, but I understand that I have something like this to look forward to tonight:







so, do you lot participate in the Jay festival?

it the vegetarian festival celebrated for the first 9 days of the 9 lunar month. Chinese, I do believe

It's a period when one should abstain from indulging in anything too flavoursome...hence no meat...no strong-smelling veges like garlic...no sex...WILLIAM PLEASE NOTE...

A wonderful time to try vegetarian food - I walked through China Town one time during the Jay Festival and I put on several kilos. The Sala Paos(?) - the stuffed dough thingys - were especially delicious.

J and Vegetarian are different.

Vegetarian - you can have eggs, (normal) milk but Jay, you can't. Jay is more serious.

No, and no garlic or onions either, thats why i cant do it.

I'm sure I've seen William guzzling large amounts of beer over the last couple of days...

..william wasn't particpating in Jay volunatrily, as the burger he ate Saturday night may have indicated. william was eating jay because fuck all else was on offer at home..
