Well when I got off the train and entered the street the main Mcvitae's factory was right next to you and you can tell what biscuits (cookies) they were making.
On a Friday it was Hobnobs, but I always wanted to visit my 'bro on a Saturday 'cos that's when they were baking the Jaffa Cakes.
Shit man, I remember getting off that train, sparking a ciggie up and just standing there getting free "whiffs" of those lovely jaffas.
My brothers moved to Wembley now, so all I smell when I go back is Polish people!

Black diamonds? I shit 'em.
Arno shortbreads are the ultimate dunker , big , strong and delicious.
My biscuit of choice here in Thailand is:
not sweet at all, only slightly dry but has dried grapes / raisins in it that add some moisture and testure to it. The taste is good.
^ Ah ha......the elusive fly biscuits ( garibaldis ) caught on camera. Used to see these around quite often but since I've been looking for them ........ zilch.
Khong Guan sounds Chinese but gooan in Thai means jam so who knows. Definately want to try these but I had a nasty shock today when I discovered my weight has gone up 5 kilos and the gf pointed and said " look, you have little man boobs . " Looking in the mirror I was mortified to see she had a point so I'm going to have to give up sweet things for a while until I shed those extra 5 kilos.
Very akin to the Garibaldi, or "dead fly biscuit".
I enjoyed my first pack earlier in the week, but I didn't feel brave enough to try a dunk.
I found mine in Lotus.
Brit biscuits not same as yanks eat with say fried chicken. I prefer those and not avail. here.
In with a bullet at no 1 , my new favourites, also from Bissin, who I must say, do a very good line in biscuits generaly. These are very crispy and live up to their name with a nice hint of butter and coconut . Well worth the 36 baht asking price and not as fattening as their sandwich versions.
My girlfriend bought some of those raisin biscuits yesterday, were they called nabisco in the UK? Anyway these are the Chinese version, how I laughed and told her she would never be a farang when she said they tasted like something out of the ashtray, imagine how suprised i was when I had one today and they tasted like something you would dig out of the ash tray, wouldn't even give these to the dogs.
Imagine having a party, big ash trays, loads of dog ends, the odd bit of beer spilt into the ash tray, waking up in the morning and sifting through the ash tray for a nice dog end to eat......
I tried some too a couple of weeks back and although they were'nt that good ( compared to originals ) the packet I had were'nt that bad either. Having said that, they were in the cupboard a lot longer than most of the other stuff I've tried. Must be the melanine in 'em ?
Yes I found them, lovely chocolate biscuits in Thailand, albeit they are made in Indonesia, found these Tim Tams in the 7/11 on the bottom shelf in the biscuit section, 18baht a packet, only 4 in a packet though, but they are nice, not sure if they are dunkable in a cup of tea though.
I bought some Caribaldi the other day, I forget what they were called though and the packet's long gone
Beat me to it DD. During the floods all my usual brands were out of stock so out of desperation I picked up a packet of these ( cappuchino flavour ) expecting to be disappointed.
Bloody delicious !! Very similar to penguins back in the U.K. but a bit smaller. They are now number 1 in my hit parade and try to keep a couple of packets in the fridge at all times.
Be warned though. Highly addictive !
Oh yes, and for 35 baht you can get a large packet with about 12 in it.
Are they the really dry ones that suck all the moisture out your mouth?
7-Eleven do a terrific cashew nut biscuit/cookie, summat like 32 baht for a pack of 8, very more-ish indeed, and great tea (Tetleys, please!) dunking fodder!
they were doing McVitie's digestive biccies on special offer recently
lovely things, much better than Hobnobs
incidentally, both of these can be bought at 2 packets for a £ in London!!
