    Banana chips

This OTOP (One tambon one product) is well known for making banana chips.

The young lady is beginning to cut up the bananas.

If they are coated with sugar, it will be called "Gluay Chabp" (กล้วยฉาบ)

    You meant "civilized", right?

    No I meant 'civilised'

Now then, shall we discuss the flavour and colour of these crisps that our neighbours have been labouring over ?

I like these because they are fruit and are therefore 'healthy' - The fact that they are fried and coated in sugar is neither here nor there, well it might be 'there', but it definitley isn't 'here'.

Love them - I eat them like Pringles, once opened they're gone in one sitting.

I'm not a fussy eater - street-stalls hold few fears for me, but I do sometimes recoil at the state of cooking oil being used - not saying that it's the case here, but often the oil looks as though it's already done about 20,000 miles in the sump of a Ford Escort....is sump the right word? I'm bluffing it....
Back off Margaret, you're on a sugar rush!

Hopefully the oil would've circulated around the engine a bit, too.

Beats the stalls where they take the water directly from the khlong...

My favourite falang watering-hole makes superb fish and chips. Proper golden greasy chips, none of that french fries crap. Well, that was until the boss went abroad leaving the locals in charge. The regular oil change has gone by wayside and the last 2 times my chips have been as black as as something that is very black. Bugger.
