Cherries restaurant, 3rd rd. Pattaya. opp xcyte

After constant nagging from my mates we finally tried this restaurant last night, I've had a week of "its better than Bruno's and Mata Hari but really cheap" and was a bit put off by this to be honest as one of my mates is a real tight arse so i did'nt think it would be that good BUT-
Went there as said and i have to say i was very very surprised, Restaurant is not really anything to look at but the food was out of this world.
Its cooked (apparently) by one of the ex Bruno's chefs and i can believe this.
The menu is certainley as impressive as Bruno's and Mata Hari and i had shrimp, crab and avacado timbale (what ever the fuck that is ) and herb crusted lamb for main.. Excellent, the others had various dishes ranging from fillet steak (which looked beautiful) to thai food which also went down well.
After desserts the bill was 3600bht for EIGHT people.
    Very highly recommended

You know my name and it was you ***** who gave me a ******* number

    Sweet cardboard most likely...

Great report, Dave. But I won't travel 400 miles to have dinner.

    Just to bump this thread.
The food is as good as it ever was, the standards have never slipped.
Eat there about once a fortnight.
Not the classiest of furnishings but i go for the food not the wallpaper.
    Excellent food and excellent value.

I ended up getting down to Cherry's last Sunday and to treat the family, particularly my wife who had been ironing all day.

The Cherry's Restaurant can be found on Pattaya Third Road between Pattaya Tai (South Pattaya Rd) and Pattaya Klang (Central Pattaya) directly opposite The Xcite Disco.

    The XCite Disco.

You may also turn left into the adjacent side street which has an entrance and parking off the main Road.

Now this Restaurant has been described as the poor man's Bruno's or Mata Hari's because the decor is not as lavish but as the head chef was formally a mainstay at Bruno's the food is excellent but less than half the price.

There are 2 sections to this Restaurant being an open smoking/ dining area right on the main Road....

Or the air-conditioned main dining area which is at the rear of the building.

My wife order Yam Nua with steamed rice which she said was delicious with a special comment about the top grade beef they used, my 2 daughters had their favourite Spaghetti Bolognaise which each of them thorougly enjoyed and my son had Spaghetti with baby clams in a special white sauce.

I in turn ordered a Lobster Bisque and as I make a good one myself an Osso Bucco with Rissotto Milanese and I must say both dishes were superb.

The meals come with a free salad bar, free garlic bread which was perfect and an assortment of breads and condiments. They also had fresh beetroot which I absolutely love and the rest of the salad was top shelf.

I was also well chuffed they gave me a delicious sorbet between courses and I must say the service was very attentive and prompt.

The wine selection also looked very solid with the bottles being stored in a temperature controlled room. As I am recovering from quite a bad cold my wife and I passed on the wine until next time.

All in all a very nice meal, very fair servings, great service and the cost for 5 people was 1,180.00 Baht.

I would rate the place an 8 out of 10 and well worth a visit when you are down in Pattaya.
