    Rose Guest House - Chiangmai

The Rose Guest house is a coupla doors down from a friend of mine's shop. Sometimes I stop by the shop just to sneak over for a mid-day breakfast, burger or Pizza. All good stuff.

The place is clean, and has plenty of room. seating is on some very nice timber tables theres even an outdoor covered dining area, lots of folks were out ther so I didn;t photograph 'em. The service is OK; it was much better, up to western standards but the waitress there had a serious motorcycle accident and has been unable to work for a few months now. here's hoping she fully recovers (even if she don't come back).
Still my coffee arrived as soon as it was done and my breaqkfast was on my table in less than 10 minutes, piping hot.

The menu is extensive and the food well prepared, the ol' lady's not to fond of the fried rice (Who goes to farang restaurant and orders fried rice???). Here's a small portion of the breakfast menu:

Today I had the "American Breakfast."

That folks, is a 90 baht breakfast. Second cup of fresh brewed coffee come with it. First time I asked for the eggs over. They did ok, little hard. Thais just don't get over-easy, do they? I'll stick with "up" from now on

The ol' lady had a 40 baht shake

That's a biggO german style beer mug fulla banana shake.

They make pretty mean pizza there too, Thin crust style.

THe burger is one of the best in Chiangmai and comes with fries for 90 baht as well.
The guest house is typical 100 - 180 baht pernight, shared bath type place. Most folks stayng there arent gonna pay the cost of one nights rent on a decent meal.

That place is really good, Frankie. You're lucky to have a place like that, especially at those prices.

Shame it only has the second best Pizzas in Chiang Mai, I really hope that Pizza Hut isn't considered the best, if it is then you might aswell use the box you get with your chicken at KFC as the base for your Pizza.

The pizza is excelent for a thin crust job. Mad Dogs does one equally well. Both excellent sauce, tangy with good herb flavor. think these two guys vie for #1. Easier to say "we're #2" then claim #1...

Personally I'd like to see a stuffed pizza like they make back in THe Bay Area. Hmmm. Think I could do one in my little toaster oven?

next week I'll have to have a Mad Dogs breakfast, you guys missed out on that one.

I asked that question once. THe answer left me more confused than before. Afraid to order it.

    It's two seperate items mate.

A Thai BF and a German BF. Not enough room on the board.
