note the use of past tense in my post.
Yes I know they shutdown about 2 years ago

But what happened to the burger person who used to hang out on the second floor (first floor for you Brits)? Those were great burgers; guaranteed to ward off any possible hangover.
If you want somewhere romantic to get away for a weekend or a mid-week, I have to recommend the Rayong Resort. Its quiet, different styles of food and has a private and clean beach.
I don't have any particular affiliation with the place, I just enjoyed my get-away, even though it was only 20 km from home.

Two definite Pattaya recs here:
Cucumber restaurant, opposite soi Day night. Reasonable selection, open kitchen, friendly and efficient service, choice of aircon or outside, meals cooked fresh. Excellent onion soup, salad, tuna salad, salmon salad, bbq fish, salmon panang, and lasagna. Expect 250-400 per head without drinks and worth every satang. Never did like the idea of a compulsory service charge because I tip Thai style with few though extravagant exceptions, and this would anyway've seen more than the 10% added.
Mata Hari, up on Jomtien Hill, bit expensive but no complaints, excellent all round.
