I read this thread when smeg first posted it, it made me realise that I don't know most of the chain restaurants here, and the ones I do know I dont enjoy eating at, why is it that chain restaurants are so awful? I suppose the one we use the most is getting pizza hut to deliver, the nicest thing I can say about it is that it is filling, but that is a bit like drinking meths to get pissed I suppose, it achieves the aim so to speak.

I've just discovered some nice thing at 'Auntie Annies' .

it's a sausage pretzel twist thing with cheese .

not sure what they're called but you can get a dip of thousand island with them.

49B each - I get two normally - they are quite small but great for the 'munchies'.

Ah, thus the questions on the other thread about being broke...

I've done something at Black canyon and it was well worthwhile!

I think I've eaten at Yam Saap and the thai SomTam was sensational.

If you're going to frequent these decent places smeg, how about a in depth report? I'll come along to photograph!

Some of these places are good.
I had superb food at a place called "the Beach" in the Isetan centre!

2 1/2 plates of rice isn't what I'd call a day's worth of food ....then again I'm not Thai

My lack of funds isn't really due to a passion for Auntie Annie though.

    bugsy's side walk

    white worms - crispy

Grasshopers - very crispy, need toohtpeack after chewing (tutpik) ( stuzicadente )

Cocratches - sucked out tastes and slides in like oysters

1000 feet things - takes a bit of time to remove feets if you dont like that part but crispy and keeps you busy for a while

I find Black Canyon to have the worst customer service there so don't eat there anymore.....whats greyhound? Never heard of it. Yum Sap have some good stuff, especially that deep fried vegetable thingy.

    -ditto-

at one time or another have done the whole spectrum of the chain restaurants (out of necessity or mere convenience but never if an alternate non chain eatary choice is readily available)

imo the food though tasting good(ish) while ingesting it, is never as satisfying as at a non chain place and both pale compared to how savory homemade (mine at least does) grub tastes

I avoid eating at chain places, esp US versions. If you have ever worked in one, you would too.

I like the coffee in Black Canyon, but Delifrance is better, and with good croissants

The Japanese chains can be good for sushi..name??
