| Timber, on your shopping travels have you ever come across the bean fabes?? My family are from Asturias in Northern Spain and felt like cooking a traditional Asturian dish for the family but feel the ingredients maybe hard to come by here. Do you know of anywhere which sells the beans and good Spanish Chorizo and morcilla? I wont be there tonight but as I have the misfortune of knowing scampy he has told me many times I have to go there so expect I will soon |

| Hat Yai | I don't know for sure if I've seen fabes, but surprisingly enough Makro has alot of beans. I'm sure they're around, I'll look for them when I'm making my rounds and let you know. You can get real Chorizo from any of the highend gourmet markets such as Emporium or Paragon food markets, TGM (Thai German Meat) puts out an ok chorizo, its cheap. I havn't seen Morcilla anywhere here, but all the ingredients are readily available in LOS and it seems pretty easy to make. I'd like to give it a try, if you let me know a few days before you want to come in I'll give it a shot.

| ^ That would be excellent, I think the mrs would love it as it has a bit of a spicy kick to it with the chorizo and morcilla. a nice few bottles of Rioja Crianza reserva would make it the perfect evening so I will hunt them down. |

| Still trailer trash | Eventually the skies cleared and by taking a taxi, in which we argued about a tree house, (don't worry, this will be discussed in another thread) 40 minutes later we arrived here. ![]() Wow! The neighborhood is sorta of a hi-so Thai with a bit a of 'falangs' moving into the area. Follow these guys and turn left. Well actually don't follow them wherever they were going. Turn left now! ![]() |

| Still trailer trash | This is what I saw the head cook doing when I first got to Timbers. ![]() Upon arrival I was told to expect a 5-course dinner. Well, no shit I thought. I had done many of these dinners before. Common sense says. 1. meat. 2. potatoe. 3.a veggie. 4. bread. 5. a drink. Put everything on a plate and there you go. A hillbilly 5-course dinner! Boy, was I wrong. ![]() Last edited by hillbilly : 09-06-2008 at 07:31 PM. |
