Service at the Old Dutch is a shambles

"At McDonalds they have fast food, here it takes time so don't worry be happy"

I think thats what it says on the bored, sorry board, that hangs from the ceiling there. It roughly translates into "We can't really be arsed to serve you whoremongering farangs that patronise Soi Cowboy beacuse as much as we hate your guts in the first place, we don't want to appear subservient to you because we are not whores like your companions"

Something as stupid as that anyway.]

Which is a shame because they do have some decent food here when they can be bothered. Fish and Chips that contains a gallon less fat than its Offshore counterpart, decent omelettes, cumberland sausages (albiet small) decent scrambled eggs, good roast beef sandwiches and good home made pate'.

The downsides are that there are far too many staff milling around with seemingly f**K all to do. You'd think that a lot of staff= great service but don't be fooled. The staff are as ignorant and thick as they come. They will avoid all eye contact and once the food is on the table (usually at ten minute intervals) they will scarper never to reappear other than to stand there presenting your change to you, always in twenty baht notes regardless of the amount.

It pains me to feel the hatred directed toward me as once again I accidently try and push the sliding door to make my exit after leaving zero tip and scowling at the stupid waitress who expected more than 40 Baht from another sad sex-tourist type (they make up much of the clientele other than residents of Pransanmit Condo) but there you go.

    What did you expect?

They used to have an old dutch in Pattaya on 2nd road, really nice food and good service, but they suffered from a lack of customers and closed down

The staff at the Old Dutch occassionaly fek up, but I'm kind of used to that having lived here for a while now.

I just treat good service as an unexpected bonus.

I've just been there for an omelette, chips & baked beans.

    They fekked the bill up!!

I was undercharged by 30B (they do this often as there are 2 prices for the omelettes there). I was so moved I left a 5B tip!

All the food arrived at the same time, which was good as I had it wrapped up for a take away.

Damn good as well. Better than the jungle tucker than GoW was eating.

Well, I didn't have breakfast today, but I had Ramen with Gyoza for lunch with a big choco milk drink.

    Did I burp?

    Damn right I did!

MtD, you don't need to eat/drink anything. You can burp all of the time, I reckon.
