Anyway, why exactly do you want to eat farang food in Thailand?
Except if you're a"tourist" that is....

You don't have to be a tourist to enjoy food form where you come from.... And show me a Thai that doesn't love these hotdogs from 7-11...

Thai food is great but sometimes the farang stomach requires some unhealthy stodge as a balancer...

I always thought it was the other way round.

Tourists like to try all the jungle food and 'long-timers' try to eat proper food as much as possible.

i am just worried that despite my advanced warnings dd is going to move onto the pizza. I was thinking that the risky "burning the roof of the mouth" syndrome could possibly occur but then by the time he has cooked it, put it on a nice plate, positioned it in the correct lighting, found his camera, found his batteries, worked out which way the batteries go in and taken the picture he should be fine.

Where do you live? All the 7-11's & Family Marts here (HH) only microwave until that lovely state of lukewarm on the outside/chilled in the middle. I'd welcome getting my mouth burnt - it might reduce the risk of salmonella or E-coli.

I must confess that last week was a junk food week for me, because I felt like pigging out, and I had a huge feast of a filet-o-fish, large fries, and a Carribean prawn burger from Mickey D's.

I felt awful for about 3 days.

The thread is about cheap farang food, not cheap Thai food. We all know where to get cheap Thai food.

Well I have eaten more salad type stuff this week than I did all last year, salad is pretty crappy and given the choice I wouldn't bother eating it, things were so dire I smothered it in the American mustard that 7/11 has for free, didn't help out much but gave it some flavour.

This hotdog is the Vermecelli one, I thought vermecelli was like glass noodles, just tasted like meat to me, at 15baht this is one of 7/11 high end hotdogs.

Good to see that you were not tempted to add common chips to your plate, but preferred to go 'upmarket' with Game Chips. Nice touch DD

I do recall a place along tepprassit road run by a couple and it was called Tim and mags. They did a good breakfast there but now the place seems to have gone way down hill. No Tim or Mag to be seen any more...some english couple run the place now..

    Anyone know the story there?

Go to Neeroys Fish and Chip shop (opposite Crazy Daves) for the best meal in Town - 99bht!

The Chips are like Mother made and the Fish is excellent. Too much to eat so I take half home!

Worst fish and chips I ever had was at some place on that stretch of road before Jomtiem Beach Road and after the junction with Thepprassit Road.

2am at your local Pattaya 7/11 and things must be pretty dire, the hotdogs are all back in the fridge, the salad counter, well if we had the front to call it a counter has been open for several hours waiting for one of the staff to empty it out and throw it away, but, they will microwave you a hotdog now this is the beasty, it's a 12 inch long chicken frankfurter which tastes pretty much like the rest of their hotdogs, but at 18baht it is a bargain, they have to cut this beasty in half as there has been rumours of the natives using these as sex toys, and, as we all know sex toys are illegal in Thailand, anyway chuck a few sauces on it and it aint too bad.

Well back from America it was time to visit 7/11 again, actually I was waiting for them to change my engine oil in the petrol station and the petrol station next door has a 7/11 and I was bloody hungry, so this time I splashed out and really went over board, yep, the 20baht chicken burger, it's actually not that bad, the bread is tasteless, the burger is tasteless, so chuck a few onions on it and some sauce and you have a nice snack that tastes of onions and sauce.
