Lung Sawai 2 Restaurant, Na Jomtien

Lung Sawai 2 is yet another seafood restaurant outside of Pattaya/Jomtien that is worth a try, especially if you have wheels and feel like getting out of town for a while. If you are coming from Jomtien (prolly the simplest, if not the fastest) just head all the way down Jomtien Beach until the road turns inland- you are now facing Lung Sawai Restaurant 1, which El Gibbon previously reviewed-
http://teakdoor.com/food-and-drink/2...estaurant.html (Pattaya Seafood Restaurant)

But today we want to check out it's lesser known, more remote cousin so keep going- the road turns a couple of times, but after about 2 km you get to a T junction- turn right there and follow the soi to the end, you are there.

Or from Sukhumvit Rd, keep heading south past Pattaya and Jomtien and this sign will welcome you to Na Jomtien.

Turn right at the next traffic lights, this Wat is on the corner on your right-

And drive a couple of km's down this nondescript soi, to the end-

Ant there you are, plenty of parking

The restaurant sits on the edge of an inlet, which serves as both a small fishing port, and also offers ingress to the Jomtien Yacht Club where some more well heeled residents than the fisherfolk keep their pleasure boats.

Of course, if Lung Sawai's prices do not impress you, you can always do a spot of fishing yourself. Thats Pattaya in the distance.

^ Note the soi dog in the foreground. Quite a few of these hanging around actually. This restaurant is there too-

The old and the new.

But heres Lung Sawai, and of course you will find no English signposting- although the menu is in English, helpfully.

Lung Sawai just pushes fresh seafood reasonably cheap. No concessions are made to ambience or style, it's all about the food.

At night, I guess people eat here as well-

The food bill came to a grand total of 515 Bht (I wish the wine was that cheap- we bought some in Tesco's on the way down, would n't be much choice here). That included a very reasonable 15 bht for the icebucket and wine glasses. Pretty cheap really- that was a good size fish for 280 bht, and fresh from the tank. The seafood fried rice for 100 bht was loaded with fresh seafood- prawns & squid, and actually the BBQ'd squid, whilst good, was probably not our best choice given there was a lot of squid in the fried rice. Anway we were more than full with this lot- my earlier thoughts to order another dish to finish off where soon abandoned and we concentrated on the wine.

All in all, I have to say a very good meal for the price. Lets see that sea bass again, turned over and deprived of the Chinese veggies-

Not much else to say about Lung Sawai 2- It does the job fine, and at the right price. Service rudimentary, but willing. Our attentive waiter was a ladyboy- I wish she would not hang around the table like a ghost when you are taking a few minutes to get your food order decided, but thats Thailand. Nice change from central Pattaya imo. But it's not far.

Sabang, thanks for the directions. Assume the food is as good as #1. Will try it out the next time in town.

^ I enjoyed the meal here better than last time I visited Lung Sawai 1, EG. Thats not necessarily to say the food is better- it could have been what we ordered on the day, or just luck of the draw. Pretty sure it's a bit cheaper, I suppose it should be right next to a small fleet of fishing boats, and no doubt cheaper rent than Jomtien.
