Milano"s Italian Restaurant Rangsit

Back in December I stopped in for a pizza at Milano's Italian Restaurant. It is located just North of the McDonalds and the Asia Airport Hotel in Rangsit on the main highway. The manager speaks English, the service was excellent and the pizza was above average!

The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff was spot on.

The manager shared (pictured below) said that an Italian man from Phuket taught him how to prepare many Italian dishes. He was able to develop a taste for fine wine as well and had a nice selection on hand.

We ordered arlic cheese bread was as an appetizer and it was served piping hot in just a few minutes

As you can see, it was loaded with Mozzarella Cheese.

Much to my surprise, the pizza was brought out as I was finishing my appetizer.

I left with a full belly and the check was only 290 baht for the pizza, garlic bread and sodas. The pizza was pretty good. I should have asked them to make it crispy. Could have just a bit more sauce. The toppings I ordered were salami, onion, green pepper and mushroom. They got it right and the service was quick.

Milano's 02-531-4449 or 089-675-6251

The cheese looks good but for some reason that ham looks a bit unenticing. Did they offer a lot of choices in pizza?

The best pizza place I've been to so far is that Basilico on suk soi33. It has 50 styles of pizza and has imported ingredients. The pizzas are awesome and go for around 290 baht. Drinks are the expensive things there with a coke at 60 baht if I remember right. Anyways I haven't heard any complaints about that place so if you are in the area check it out.

I live near Milano's but have yet to go. The food looks good enough for a try and as you may know Rangsit isn't the best place to find farang food so I will eventually try it.

I've visited this restautant a couple of times now. It is easy to find since it is right next to an illuminated sign for Rangsit General Hospital. If you turn into the road for the hospital you will see a small 7-11 on your left. milano's is next to the 7-11.

As you enter the restaurant take the seating on your left-hand side. The seating on the right side affords a splendid view of the side wall of the 7-11, which is used as a latrine.

The restaurant interior is typical European style with plenty of Italian wine bottles, immitation works of art, flags, etc. Visually it is very "busy" and could easily be regarded as romantic.

The menu is not adventurous, but broad enough for there to be something for everyone. The red wine, however, comes chilled and my well-done steak had blood oozing out of it. I understand the vegetarian pizza is a delight and they will prepare items not on the menu if you ask, and if they have the ingredients.

If you are dining late the owner will keep the restaurant open until you finish your meal and won't hurry you if you order more items after closing time. The restaurant derived most of its trade from Don Mueang for its first year, and has been hit hard by the loss of trade, but the owner is trying hard to keep it going and deserves all the support he can get because he is making every effort.

^ Yeah, I asked the owner if he had a lot of customers since the new arport closed and he said nit noi.

It is okay for a meal, especially if you are bored with rice! Not the best in the world, but good for a change once in awhile.

The place is easily to see from the Viphawadi-Rangsit road because of it's huge sign outside so the wife and I talked about going there when passing it. Later I showed her this thread and I have to say your pictures of the food out her off from going there, Chitown.

Was taken with my old camera.
