| Pattaya Seafood Restaurant Those of you who know me, know that I enjoy good eats, whether I make it or buy/order it. This place has been on the 'can't miss list' for awhile now ever since it was introduced to me by Thaipom. Having been there several times over the last few months we have yet to have a dish - say nothing about a meal - that was average or below. Having tried somewhere north of 50 different dishes all are outstanding, even the Thai dishes that generally meet with little praise from Ms. E. G., are above average. It is a totally Thai place (the extensive menus are in both English and Thai) and you seldom see tourists there. Occasionally we find the odd falang, probably a Pattaya resident, but not a lot of tourists or tour buses. If you need plush surroundings and excellent toilets this is not the place for you. IF, however, you really enjoy excellent seafood at very reasonable prices then your in for a treat. It is located at the far south end of Jomtien beach, you would actually drive in the front door on beach road if you didn't have to turn left. Don't drive as there is no parking, take a truck and let them know your going "all the way". Here is the front of the place. The inside is is nothing to brag about other than your on the edge of the water. Basic table and benchs. OK enough about the place, let's get to the FOOD! First up is the most expensive item.... and also the most civilized way to eat crab legs. Yummie Next up we have a large plate of crab fried rice and a plate of veggies and salted fish. Next comes another favorite, fried prawns with a sweet lemony sauce. Next up is a plate of clams with sweet chilli Then a spicy salad of prawns and squid Next is an order of regular ole BBQ prawns Then a fried fish with loads of garlic... whew A sweet and sour fish a second helping of the fried prawns, One of us was still hungry Another order of the veggies and salted fish. I stopped eating for a break and took this one of the complete setup. ![]() A really excellent feed for six of us. Not a bad bite in the lot.... Total cost was 2560 Baht including 4 large Heinies and 6 large Sing... What a deal! Highly recommended for those that enjoy food rather than flash! E. G. / Thiapom

| Senior Member | As the greenie says I used to go there (Lung Sawai (?)) and the restaurant before (Poo Pen), but have settled for the beach side since spotting what looks like asbestos roofs at both. May be wrong or no big deal either way, but caveat emptor despite tasty, well prepared and good value foods. |

| ^ Yep, it's lung Sawai. They've also got another one down in Na Jomtien. Good food there and actually quite well known by the Thai, because it once featured on national television. My favourite of all (for food, not the shabby decor and ambience) is the Ban Amphur seafood restaurant. They do a real nice Cantonese style steamed sea bass, fresh from the tank.

Never been bothered with flies there, maybe the time of day as we generally try to get there prior to 4 PM. E. G. | |
