300 EUR for 140 doses? that's like 2EUR per dose, it's 0.37 EUR per dose here

if your intake is 3 or 4 doses per day, that's like 8 EUR per day in coffee,

how much is coffee in Korea? even at Starbucks for a Grande? maybe cheaper if you only go there twice a day at Starbucks

Why are there so many stupid people???

Here, you buy the machine - that's $150. Then, you buy the capsules at around $5-6 for 10.

If you have the machine for a long time then that initial cost eventually drops down to close to zero - i.e. if you had 150 coffees then the machine cost would be $1 per coffee. The coffee cost pretty much stays the same at 50 cents per coffee...

I drink about 3 coffees per day, 5 days a week, that's 15 coffees per week or 60 coffees per month, within 3 months the cost would be around the $150, i.e. the machine paid for, then the coffees cost about 50 cents each.

Now, the coffeeshops charge about $5 or more for a coffee - thus, after 3 months or so (depending how many coffees I drink; I've been drinking much more than usual this week...) instead of paying $5 per coffee at about 15 per week = total cost of about $75 per week. My cost would be about $7.50 per week.

So, depending what kinda length of term you offset the initial cost of the machine gives you a different calculation... Ill be in Korea for at least another 4 months, so savings will be at least $120 or so over that short time period. Even then, I can take the machine back to the UK with me or potentially sell it (more likely just give it away to a friend).

But, cost savings isn't the only issue - I want nice tasting coffee at home when I want it, and this machine does that for me.
    Cycling should be banned!!!

One minute you're saving $60 a week with this ridiculous machine, next minute you're saving $75?

Jeez, keep on guzzling it at this rate and you'll be set up for life!

The maths is really quite simple.

The explanation is easy to follow.

The initial reason was that I wanted a nice coffee at home rather than the crap instant which I never enjoyed - job done.

If I wanted to justify the price which I don't then I could look at it in a very easy way:

I paid, in total around $330 for the machine and 6 months or so of coffee. That's easy, that's my total spend.

I've had the machine for about a week and haven't bought a coffee from a coffeeshop yet because I have a shot at home early morning then brew up a tasty flask of coffee to take to work with me (because I prefer the taste to the coffee shop coffee). I would have spent about $75 on coffee from coffee shops this week, but instead I spent zero...

$330 - $75 = $255. So, the coffee machine and my coffee (and biscuit) stash currently stands me in at $255.
If week 2 stays the same, it'll stand me in at $180.
If week 3 stays the same, it'll stand me in at $105.
If week 4 stays the same, it'll stand me in at $30.
If week 5 stays the same, I'll be up $45.

Fuck me, it pays for itself quickly - but that all depends on how much I drink, how much I spend at coffee shops, etc. I'm sure I'll still pop to coffee shops from time to time...

Plus, the early morning expresso is a really nice kick start to the morning.

Plus, I enjoy a nice coffee at home in the evening and weekends.

Oh, joy of joys, I can't believe I didn't buy this little beauty earlier - it's a wonderful thing...

I must admit, you being serious is uncannily similar to you acting the fool and that can make it difficult to tell the difference.

But sometimes you lay it on a bit too thick.

it's a great sense of freedom, people don't get it until they have one

I brought 2 with me when I moved to Asia, one for the office and one for home, back then it was a rare thing and people thought I was mad

^ that does look nice Luigi, but the cleaning of the milker put me off these types of machines... 30 seconds in the microwave is easy enough for any milk I'm gonna add...

Is that the output from your AI program Betty?
Drink more coffee and it will start generate money for you..

and you will drink more coffee when you have that machine at hand, when you don't have to walk out to Starbucks.
It's similar to stop smoking pipe and go over to cigarettes instead.

And use more water, aircon and electric..... have no one to call out his name or marvel at his shiny Apple logo.

Then there's the addiction, high blood pressure, excesssive urination, insomnia, anxiety attacks, procrastination, decline of social skills.

    Those machines are evil

It's no coincidence that they are the devil's red.

Thanks to my aeropress I just enjoyed an excellent cup of coffee from a plantation in Chiang Mai province.

Minute carbon footprint, and only the grinds in the bin. Even the filter paper is reusable.

    About 20 baht per cup.

^^ evil, but in a good way...

I'm currently drinking my innovative blend of: 1 lungo Pike Peak; 1 expresso Sumatra; 200ml hot milk. &, very nice it is too, from my flask, eating a nice healthy cereal bar while at my desk. If I'd popped to Twosome for a latte and a sandwich that've been nearly $10 - the savings are never ending; Nespresso are basically paying me to drink lovely coffee.

    The joys of Nespressing.

Doesn't surprise me, that's what I've suspected all the time - it's all a commercial for that firm.

Christ, you haven't googled about those either.

Had a damn fine Kazaar this morning too as it happens. If it doesn't become Main-Kazaar II, I might stick up a pic or three.

I have a refill on the way, so had to resort to Cafe Royale Intensity 8 from the local supermarket while I wait, not too bad, but they cost the same about 3.80 EUR for 10 capsules, so why bother with copy when you can have the original
