    La Dotta Italian

This restaurant on Thong Lo soi 9 specializes in Bolognese dishes and fresh, not dried, pasta. We started with burrata and spinach salad and baked eggplant for appetizers. Both were exceptionally tasty. The tagliatelle with mushrooms and sausage was fine, but the sausage needed something like anise seed and maybe a dash of sea salt to add a bit more interest. The Italian sausage served at Peppina's and Pizzaiola is closer to what I remember from Nona's kitchen. The linguine and clams was enjoyable and filling. To freshen the palate we had pistachio and lemon gelate: both delightful. I had a very drinkable Chianti while SD had...a ginger ale (sigh)...we're definitely returning...
