    Jumbo Chinese

...on the ground floor of Siam Icon, facing the river...essentially a crab-centered Shanghai-based eaterie. We decided to explore the menu for other items as I wasn't up to tearing apart a gigantic crab, though protected by plastic gloves and a bib. Instead, we ordered spicy cod, minced garlic morning glory, dry seafood noodles and mocha pork ribs. All items were excellent, but special mention must be made for the ribs: the mocha sauce (lightly sweetened chocolate and coffee) was superb. We'll be returning soon for another serving of the ribs...the river view is nice and service was quick, efficient and English-speaking. Thais, apparently, were needed only to clean the tables and greet the guests...

...on a second visit to Jumbo Seafood to further explore the menu: battered seafood paste with chili sauce, spicy seafood noodles, scallops on yam bed and taro crown and a dramatically posed deep-fried tilapia...washed down with lemon juice over ice and Asahi beer......all preparations delicious...

...on the way to the restaurant in the Icon, we passed by this eager seller:

...on the way home, this gold-leaf encrusted soft-serve cone caught my eye...very refreshing:

Nice one Tom. Have to say i'd probably have not made it to Jumbo getting waylaid by that porker. Re the Seafood Paste, any clues as to what and how its made?

...none, but it was delicious: shrimp, squid and scallop flavors detected...
