    Grapefruit juice in Thailand

Is it easily available or do you need to go to a farang deli in BKK for it?

Not ready available. A close approximation is pomelo juice. But the supply varies throughout the year. I love the stuff and buy it whenever I see it. It's slightly sweeter and less bitter than grapefruit juice. (The grapefruit is a cross between a pomelo and an orange.)

Yes, you can get it, or close to it easily. Look for the Tipco 100% BLOOD Orange juice. You can get it in most Tops/Marketplace stores. It has a weird name, but tastes almost the same as grapefruit juice. I suspect it's made from red pomellos.

I am drinking some freshly crushed Som O/ pomelo as we speak ( I love the stuff). The reason I was so particular about getting grape fruit is that it contains certain acids which act as an pain killer potentiate and will hopefully relieve the agony of my long suffering urethra and pelvic area.

I hope as Som O is pretty similar to grapefruit it will indeed contain the right chemicals.

I think Pomelo is closer than blood orange, but they're still sweet. I don't know about anywhere else, but here you can only buy grapefruit juice in one of those big cans

Beware of drinking Grapefruit Juice if you are on Drug Medication.

Apparently it increases the strength of some drugs or your metabolism so you unintentionaly O/D!

^^^ Not sure, mad dog. Have a feeling it could be the water/concentrate stuff. Will check next time I'm out.

Try a glass of grapefruit juice after brushing your teeth - see how much you love it then.

I was advised by my doctor that I could lower my pain killer consumption by potentiating the medication with grapefruit jucie. Less meds for my body's system to deal but increased analgesic effect.
