    Kai

...on Sathorn soi 12, a cozy soi with a number of quiet eating and happy hour establishments behind the Mahanakorn building...the ambiance is darkish and woody, the service competent and the food tasty. This place is the upmarket sibling (I understand) of Snapper on Sukh soi 11, a restaurant that features imported New Zealand fish.

We started with a tuna tartare and mussels arrabiata, both mildly flavored, but toothsome nonetheless. A generous and delicious seafood fettuccine in a very light cream sauce and an excellently prepared cod in a crisp batter with fries followed. Honorable mention to the homemade ketchup and tartar sauce...the passion fruit cheesecake was a nice finish to a satisfying lunch. I downed *cough* 4 glasses of Black Cottage Pinot Noir (New Zealand) and was very pleasantly surprised at the depth and smoothness of the grape...We'll be returning soon. B3,200 with the wine...about B2,000 without...

Great review, TC. The restaurant must be close to our HQ in Bangkok, I will make a note to visit next time. Cheers.

I'm not sure readers of your thread would have seen or heard that.

The manager there used to manage the royal Oak (I think) and owns his own bar/restaurant in Bang Na.
