Chumphon Italian Restaurant Fame Tour & Travel

This place is really easy to find, walk out of Chumphon train station down to the traffic lights, there you have a tourist information office just opposite you, take the right and wander down there 100 meters and you will see it on the left, got to admit I didn't see a Fame Restaurant sign or anything but you really can't miss this place as it is a big open double shophouse that looks just like a bar and restaurant.

    Here's the sign.

Now here is the sandwich menu board, they bake their own bread here and it is really good.

They have a really big menu of just about every Italian dish you can think of, me, I just went for the cheese and tomato sandwich, the picture doesn't really do it justice on just how bloody big the thing was.

The place had seperate ladies and gents toilets, you know how messy women can get so that is probably needed.

Now this place I have to say is one of the most professionaly run places I have been to in Thailand, but it does have it's downside, here are the showers that travellers are allowed to use for free, again a ladies and gents seperate ones and they were really clean.

Now this place is a guesthouse and visa run place, plus also a restaurant and bar, from everything I saw there they run all of that great, the food choice was fantastic, the service couldn't be complained about, I have to admit I was impressed, then I got foking angry......

Now we all value our privacy to a certain degree, the cctv camera which was aimed more at the customers than the bar didn't really annoy me that much, probably the cashier moved it slightly so she don't get caught doing what cashiers do best, but what foking did annoy me was the software they had on their poxy email computer internet cafe poxy thing with foking webshots snap shots of what you have foking browsed, yes YOUR EMAILS, YOUR BANK ACCOUNT DETAILS etc, now normally this sort of stuff is used with keyloggers, ie all the good keyloggers do web snaps of the pages your victim views, also they log all the keystrokes for passwords and user names you might use, so then if you are like me you end up having to phone someone to change your foking passwords cos you really have no idea what these cnuts are doing and what they are running on their poxy internet cafe pcs, ok my password at that time for td was things I had to type and then a bit out of my user name that I copied and pasted into the password section, so most loggers aint gonna get that, BUT, most people aint as paranoid as me, anyway worth going there for food or the boat to Koh Tao, but tell erm to stick their pcs up their arse.

Great info and pics, DD. Glad you told us; I wouldn't know anything about that computer stuff. Sh*t, what if you went there to transfer money or check bank accounts? Scary.
But, as you said the place and food looks good (what kind of bread did you get? was that a baguette roll?). Glad you flushed the toilet before you took that snap. Oh, which way do you turn when you come out of the station?

No idea, I was going to stay in Chumphon for a couple of days, then I found out it had been raining everyday so changed my mind.

Didn't notice one but I was on a search to use a computer so may just have missed it in my quest.

    Chumphon train station and trains

Lets have a look at Chumphon train station as I feel sure that some people are stimulated by these sort of things.

Just coming out of the train station they have a few old steam trains on the center of the road.

What did amaze me was how clean the place was, I even looked for somewhere to put my cigarette end, I have not found many places in Thailand where it wouldn't bother me to chuck it on the floor, but this place was pretty spotless.

I was down Jomtien Beach yesterday, the tide was washing up around my deck chair, had to keep picking the plastic bags and other litter that was being washed up off of my feet, thats when you really realise the difference, still I suppose it's only sex tourists that come to Pattaya and Jomtien, so they don't matter too much
