    Ippudo Japanese Ramen

Although primarily a ramen restaurant, Ippudo also has an interesting range of well-prepared appetizers:

For B1100, we tried cucumber in sesame/garlic sauce, deep-fried chicken with daikon and cabbage, salmon rolls topped with salmon mousse and caviar (a star!), deep-fried squid, gyoza and a very spicy Japanese fried rice. We're regulars here for the ramen, but always order an appetizer or 3 to accompany. SD had the lychee soda and I enjoyed a pint of Asahi draft. Highly recommended (we like the Central Embassy branch)...

...another visit to our favorite unpretentious (though [horrors!] mall-based) ramen restaurant Ippudo...a description of the noodle soup from the menu: Tonkotsu with rich flavor from creamy white sesame paste and fragrant spicy oil, served with fire torch pork belly, pork loin, minced pork miso, soft-boiled egg and seaweed. Fabulous! Other treats included minced pork gyozo (dumplings) and our usual salmon sushi with salmon foam and caviar. The ice-cold Asahi draft beer is also well appreciated. B1,500 with green tea (free refills!)...We eat here at least once a month...

...trying out new menu items on our monthly visit...everything delicious: On this visit to a favorite ramen restaurant we tried some new menu items: 2 different and tasty ramen bowls and sides of cucumber in sesame oil, shrimp wrapped in white fish and deep-fried in tempura batter and crunchy micro-shrimp with miso sprinkles...dessert was a fresh mango sauce on a cheesecake shaved ice...Asahi draft and peach iced tea to accompany...

Seconded but with the uk exchange rates that's knocking on the door of £10 a bowl before extras. Sorry, that came across a bit Buttfly.

And this is just utter nonsense, obviously...

Really did try to get into the ramen in Japan last year, but boiled egg on noodles can only ever be a workaday lunch for me.
