Easy Ribs and Wings, Mall Bangkapi

Easy Ribs and Wings is a great place...to avoid.

The family decided on a meet up as it was my birthday and the in-law's 49th wedding anniversary. We got our ribs and wings ... and they sucked, massively.

The ribs seemed to be brined, boiled and then had sauce added to them. Never were the ribs exposed to a dry heat source, much less than one that actually smoked the ribs.

The wings were kind of that Korean type, where they add too much baking soda/powder where the skin popped up away from the meat, allowing the cooking oil to liberally soak the delicate white flesh the skin was supposed to protect.

Lastly, to my shame and horror, and this is not a joke...the waitstaff passed out plastic gloves to pick the ribs and chicken up with .....

The pictures are too graphic in detail to post...

    Avoid it.

Yes happy BD, and it's a shame to hear your meal gathering for a special occasion was a let down.

We're going to try a new Italian place that just opened up about 2 minutes walk from home tonight. Walking past, it looks quite nice inside but stories like yours above when it comes to trying places for the first time always make me worry...

Out with my daughter we saw the branch of the rib and wing joint at Zspell at Future Park. It was dead on lunch time and this place had few customers, so we walked around it and had a look. Run by what it seemed like was kids and as you said the few people were eating with rubber gloves. Gave it a miss, and now am very glad we did.

I have to admit that I've never really understood the point of ribs or wings.

It seems like an awful lot of fuss, mess and bother for very little meat.

I bow to your judgement on this matter as you are the one who has made the effort to criticise the foreign food that you have eaten. I treat my in-laws with more respect and would never consider exposing them to "foreign muck".

I tried queen ants and lemon grass on my last visit to them. They were absolutely disgusting and tasted like fragmented Brillo pads. Nevertheless, they were not foreign and my standards were maintained. You should try to emulate me.

Ribs and wings ain't foreign food to me. I'm guessing you could look around here and see where I've cooked foreign wings and ribs myself.

Well good on you! As my family is Filipino and I'm an American, it's something we deal with every day...you know...that foreign muck.

Important family dates and adventurous new experiences probably don't mix.

At least not unless you're a dj.

    Rubber gloves ya say?

    Eek.

No need for pics. One look at the fb link you posted is enough to turn me off. Parboiled ribs probably popped in an oven to brown and then plastered with copious amounts of sauce.

Here's a picture of their Bacon Mac and Cheese...

Looks great, except the "bacon" is that fake bacon bits from McCormick.

Seriously, they used fake bacon bits on their food. It gave me a laugh.

That'd be good enough for a chef's website, I reckon.
