    Talking Hillbilly's new BBQ grill

Finally made the plunge and decided to get a new cooking toy. I got tired of the Thai-style grills and bought this puppy here in Bangkok for about B30,00.

Plenty of cooking space with a few extras thrown in. I already have a massive Sirlion steak marinading away. Will let you know this evening how dinner turns out!

If you are interested, I bought this grill from The Barbecue Store off of Sukhumvit Road. 02-662-6665 or ::Welcome to the Barbecue Store, Thailand::

I used to have a gas BBQ back in UK.
It was an ozzie make and nowhere near as fancy as your one HB.

I was happy with mine and it cooked just as good as a conventional charcoal burner but a lot quicker.

I also was one of those die hard charcoal people. The problem that I ran into here in Thailand was the charcoal itself. My experience or perhaps lack of experience showed that Thai charcoal burns hot and fast. Not very good for sustained BBQing.

I've got something similar and took the Lava stones option...

This stones are porous and may ignite, this BBQ store where you purchased, proposes some ceramic blocks, may be gooder...

one trick i learned, is : never use WATER in your marinades or sauces for cooking, or use it if you like to eat charcoal...

    Bon appetit

A nice grill is a thing of beauty! Get those chickens and ribs marinating.

Nice... The family I'm staying with here use a metal basin full of charcoal and light it indoors.

Normally, I buy my meat from the local market. However, when I get tired of Thais not knowing how to carve a pig or steer, I go to Villa which is damn expensive.
