The tamiloks are eaten raw. They are best eaten while still alive.

They do squirt stuff. You can eat them cooked or alive. Both versions taste like sad.

Good call little Fawn. Althought that tequila soaked night will eventually come when a lot of things sound like a good idea at the time.

Balut - an all time Flipper favorite
A balut is a 16-to-21-day-old fertilized duck egg, boiled, that contains not only a yolk but also a semi-developed duck embryo. It is one of PI's most iconic and exotic delicacy. To eat it, you crack it open and eat it with a dash of salt and some vinegar.

I am so unlucky that if I fall into a barrel full of D*ick**s, I'd come out sucking my own thumb!

Isaan raw beef salad is a particular favorite around here- nice it is, too.

There are very few foods that turn my stomach. I've eaten both dog, and cat (well only once, in China- in a soup with chicken & snake. Sorry Kitty).

Balut from the Fil's is one. Jugged (ie rotten & decomposed) hare from the UK another. Around here, the home made Pla Raa (called Pla Dek in Isaan if it is the homemade stuff). Yeck- but I am perfectly fine with bagoong, in fact keep some at home.

Managed to almost get out the door of Lovebirds (Del Pilar) because the route to the CR was obstructed with people which would have increased travel time, and with vomit coming out from between my fingers I made it to the gutter where on all 4's, that rancid bastard of a thing could be ejected.

In the compound I lived, a few trusted vendors were let in and just hearing the lady calling out BALOOOOOT as she roamed would be enough to bring a gag reflex on. I need a long hot shower then to brush my teeth and gargle Listerine right now after just speaking about it

Its an acquired taste..... Most flippers love it! I've gotten used to the taste, but not at the sight of the embryo inside the egg. I can only eat balut in the dark. 555. I tend to spit the bones without looking at them. A normal balut eater would use the bones as toothpick. 555 Just kidding on the bone and toothpick bit.

Who eats bugs, I mean come on. That is fish bait as far as I am concerned.

I recently cut down this "Mot Dang" nest at my house and the neighbor guy ran over with a gleam in his eyes as he wanted the larvae to eat. I was like, "Whatever floats you boat man". Just take those viscous damn ants with you too. He did.

Grilled chicken intestines, a popular flipper street food. Want some barbecue? Anyone?

Congealed pig's blood, grilled to perfection, dipped in vinegar, eaten while still hot. Its another flipper street food.

They are crunchy, so you don't have to worry about the "mush factor"...They are somewhat similar to the tip of a chicken wing...But I think you're messing with me, Fawn...'Cause everything tastes like chicken - even chicken!...Heh...

There is more "meat" out there in the insect world than all other "food forms" combined...And this market is getting bigger...Good protein, too...

My favourite is the worm at the bottom of the tequila bottle, innit Fawn?...555...
