Thread: Nuts are best when warm

I do enjoy a nut or two my thought on this is to consume them at the median temp where they came from for the best flavour. I would never ever put nuts in the fridge. I store mine in an area which has a regular temp of 35 C but winter time I will give them 15 sec in the microwave on high to get the right eating temp.

I'm with you all the way,but I do need a sprinkling of sea salt. Lovely

Nuts have very very low water content, so won't even go hard in the freezer.

Keep your hot stinking mouldy nuts to yourself

Seriously....don't ever eat nuts which you can see any mould on....they are likely to contain aflatoxins, which are a potent carcinogen. First sign : liver cancer.

Room temp will suffice.
As nature intended.

Next time you order some cashew nuts in a restaurant, add the word "yam" add the start.

You will get a lovely plate of cashews mixed with salt, chopped lime, chopped chilli and chopped spring onion.

Don't get paranoid...

Hot and humid over time might increase the nasties in which case take them out of the fridge and give them a microwave zap. Particularly if eating tree nuts such as pecans.

I keep my nuts in a nutsack.
