It's Basque. Best place in Spain. I lived in Irun for about 3 months. Lovely food and people.

We went to San Sebastien for their Firework display over the bay. Went way up overlooking the bay. Magical.

The only thing that perturbed me, was the men standing around the road with balaclavas and machine guns. As we drove there with kids in the car.

But anyway, whatever their politics. I was always welcomed with open arms. Good memories. And i know, if i ever go back down that way. I shall find my friends there again. I know where to go.

And the food!! I have never eaten so well. And in some restaurants that tourists never see. Nor will ever see. All day eating and drinking. With me not understanding a word, but they all made me feel at home. They spoke spanish to me and french and english. Mish mash of languages, but we all understood each other in the end. Hand jiving!!

Pais Basques is in my heart. And shall never leave. The last time i was there is about 15 years ago. So not so long. And i know i could just walk into the bar restaurant where my friend and his wife are. And it would be like i had never left.

That is how the Basque people are. And now, when my ex boyfriend goes there - they always ask about me. Not about his recent girlfriend. Its always me. that makes me happy. What he says about me, well hopefully not too bad!!
