Following a thread about contaminated water in farm areas and ENT's comment about organic, I never thought to mention the veg I have been buying for some time.
I'm quite finicky about food and I'd say 95 percent of my purchases are organic or chemical free. However, after a little research I discovered that the majority of Thailand's organic food is single batch tested. This means only one batch has to be tested to receive organic certification. But the stuff on the shelves could be a completely different batch that isn't organic.
While searching around I accidentally dropped on a company called Madam Veggie (Shit name) claiming to be chemical free and a much higher standard than organic Thailand. I dropped them a line because I couldn't find them in the shops. They only export to the EU and sell direct, and the EU regularly visits their farm for quality displays. Anyway, they invited me to the farm and I accepted their offer. The owner ran me through the laboratory and compared their tests to others such as organic. Organic needs to pass up to 200 chem test, their produce passes over 700 including airborne. This is every single batch. He took me to another area and asked me to examine the produce. I commented on how fresh it looked and smelled. The room was for veg that didn't pass the test despite it being a much higher standard than the average market. It's incinerated or donated.
Basically the veg and fruit is top notch and, GMO free. Incidentally, they did a survey on papaya and found that most is contaminated with airborne GMO!
The food is also backed by many top nutritionists and doctors.
If you want the best veg you can find, try them.
