Have had rat many times here. Love it. Pan fried is best with rice. Also the quail they catch on the tapioca farms is my favorite.
    Done rat too many times.
I find the most appealing will be prepared as a savoury stew.

Kung Ten- Dancing shrimp, I tried a few mouthfuls of this when I first came here.

    OK, but not my style.

Deep fried minnows from the local pond. My wife made me taste one. I told her it was very bitter and not what I expected. She explained that the bitterness is shit.
    I'll pass next time.

They don't let it grow very big either, they eat most veggies and fruits before they mature.

My wife will eat tiny apples of the tree when they are young and sour unlike us who wait till they are full size and sweet.

Sometimes we'll visit these pick your own fruit and veg farms and she'll come back with bin bags full of free leaves of Brocolli etc that are normally thrown away.

To her they are the delicacy.

Kind of makes you appreciate coming from a country where you didn't have to scavenge for food everyday or starve to death don't it?

I imagine most of the USA and Europe were very similar when agriculture and small farms ruled the land and people had to grow and hunt for their supper.
I'm not saying it was Aliens, but it was Aliens!

Its been remarked several times that one major difference between europe and Thailand is that here, food is available all year round, while in most parts of europe if you don't get your shit together and PLAN AHEAD, you died right around the time the snow started to fall.....
