    Anyone use Juicers?.

After going to Central yesterday to buy a new paring knife and walking out with an electric juicer, I'm wondering if anyone here has first hand experience with them?. Any favourite combos to share?. The aim of the game is to be able to replace 1 meal a day with a juice that's healthy, low calorie, and tastes somewhere between not too bad and nice. Feedback from those with hands-on experience would be appreciated!.

I'd suggest finding out which vegetables in Thailand have a high pesticide content and avoiding them. You'd be consuming a lot of it simply because you go through more veggies & fruit, using a juicer.
Stuff imported from Western countries is pretty good as their standards are high.

A small amount of ginger is a great addition to many juices.

^ Check!. The only time we ever "have words" is when I attempt any kitchen hand duties like food prep, or cleaning up after myself. Apparently Farangs know nothing about either. Perfect .

Dillinger thank you for that link to a previous thread on the same topic, some excellent tips and future recipes are now onboard. Will watch the linked videos in there shortly.

Tried juicing for the first time this morning. Beetroot, carrots, ginger, whole lemon, bell peppers, and celery. Went WAY overboard with the ginger not realizing just how powerful its juice would be, but it's a lesson learned.

if you put too much beetroot juice in it you think you are hemorrhaging internally.

The problem with juicers, or even just buying juice, is that the pulp is removed.
When the fiber is removed, you tend to drink more, and hence get fatter.

Also, the good juicers are very expensive.

I think you should try to just rig up a press of some sort using materials at hand.

2 months on and I'm more than happy with having bought one, we make veggie juice twice a week and fruit juice once in a while. After much trial and error our favourite raw veggie juice is celery, beetroot, carrot, green bell peppers, and ginger. Tastes great .

That's awesome! Have you found that you lost much weight in the process?
I have a friend who has a group on fb on juicing and it is called the 60 day juice fast reboot. I have been on a low carb diet for awhile and haven't ate fruit (because of the sugar) in over three months, but I want to start juicing in about a month.

I'm going to buy the Nutribullet which is supposed to be a great juicer for keeping the pulp and nutrients. I got this off of her fb group..some ideas for juicing. If you want to be added to her group I can give you the info.

Thanks for the Info Jaime but I located a decent juicer in a big electrical shop in the next town to me about 10 kms away ,it works a treat and being it separates the pulp from the juice the wine clears a hell of a lot quicker .
