    Carl's Jr Burgers

Have any of you tried Carl's Jr yet?

    Carl's Jr US

    https://www.facebook.com/CarlsJr.Thailand

I have, and am a big fan. This is a chain which originated in the States in 1941, and has now made its way over to Thailand. I had never heard of it until it popped up here.

The burgers are a cut above the ones you get at McDonalds and Burger King. They are juicy and apparently made with 100% Australian beef.

I think they are aimed at adults that enjoy a tasty burger more than being another place to placate the kids.
There are no happy meals or paper hats and no sinister noncey clown hanging around - unless you go to the one in Pattaya, in which case there may be a few clowns that fit the bill.

The ice cream shakes are fantastically thick, and you can buy a beer there to enjoy with your meal.

You place your order at the counter and the burgers are prepared and taken to your table. When you finish, the wrapper will be swimming in meat juices, which is a big difference to McD's or BK which often have burgers sitting around for a while.

The chicken tenders are made of what appears to be actual chicken pieces, and are a damn site better than the mechanically retrieved, mashed and shaped nuggets you get elsewhere.

I recommend "The Big Carl", and the chilli cheese fries washed down with a Heineken.
The jalapeno burger is also badass.

As i said, there is one in Central Pattaya and i believe there are a few in Bangkok including one at Mega Bangna.

    They look inviting to me.
Particularly if the bread is ok.
The cardboard that passes for buns at Mcdonalds doesn't do it for me.
A properly made burger isn't necessarily unhealthy.
Bread, beef, lettuce, tomato onion, all raw, and if you're doing it properly a slice of beetroot.
    Nothing unhealthy about that.

I go to the one in Central Pattaya about once every 6 weeks for a junk-food fix of a Famous Star w/ cheese. It's a good burger!.

Raw beef probably isn't all that healthy but i know what you mean
Never had the pleasure of a burger with beetroot, but i know coleslaw is fantastic on burgers and i assume gives a similar crunchy, sweet/sour sensation.
Will give beetroot a try at some point in the future.

The bread is nice and soft, cant think of a bad thing to say about them other than the chilli is a bit salty.
They are streets ahead of McD's and Burger King.

Carls jr has been around for decades. Not here in LOS but all over CA. Good tasting burgers they are - shame there's none here in the Baan Nook...

In and Out is all that be said when it comes to big chains. It was nice to see 5 Fat Guys get in.

A simple menu is the key to In and Outs success.

I first went to a Carl's Jr. in the late 90s when living in LA.

I'm not into fast food, but these gut bombs are unique.

One came to Saigon 4 years ago. Over $3.50 back then and that ain't cheap.

Me too. I've heard they're the cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast, actually.

More akin to a hangover cure than something pleasurable to eat.
