    Simple Sangas

The chip butty thread has gone hiso. Here's some simple, god given foods!

    The Cheese and Onion toastie.

    Fat bread. Butter the outside.
    Lashings of mayo
    Slice of proper cheddar
    Loads of onion
    Smother in cracked pepper.

    Job done

Didn't take a piccie of the finished product, it got eated too quickly!

Edit: Hmmmm, can't see the pic.

Anyway, I have a 500g jar of vegimite sitting at home. A collaegue bought it back from her trip to aussie. Did not have the heart to tell her that, as a Brit, she had just given me the equivalent of a jar of warm poo........

^ yep, he's a great bloke. I've lost/forgotten the password to that account, but can still upload pics via email.

Vegemite, I have the kilo sized tubs.

    Cannot get enough.

Can anyone help, the pics are not showing up on my phone, is it just me?

your pics Willy , are showing on google chrome , but not firefox , which i just switched to , to allow me to paste in this hi - tech guide to making a cheese on toast

    toast the bread
    turn the toaster OFF
    before it cools
quickly flip the toaster on it's side , slide the toast in , with the cheese on top

and in no time you'll be enjoying melted cheese !

Showing on chrome but not firefox?

I used an old toastie maker for the cheese and onion baby.

I hang my head with shame as a Brit who has been 'turned'.

My name is Kurgen and it has been 2 days since I last had Vegemite.

I'm just about to make a sangie actually. It will be a crusts on affair though so might not make it into this thread.

Vegemite and cheese, a classic, though I personally use a little less vegemite.
(Did you know the yanks have banned it)

Vegemite and cheese- awful. Vegemite on toast- gods own.

A simple sanga of much virtue is the humble cucumber sandwich, and in Thailand we have pretty good cucumber. Thin white bread- very fresh, real butter, freshly sliced cucumber, salt and pepper to taste. surprisingly good, edging on healthy, and won't break the budget unless you bought a knighthood to have one.

Water and mustard cress sandwiches are nice too, once again the ingredients must be right, but I don't really know how to make them.

Vegemite and cheese is great, same as Cheese and onion.

One should only eat cucumber sandwiches at garden parties old chap.

Thought you'd be into the Chinese 'pulled pork' (the stringy meat) sandwiches.

I'd never thought of this Vegemite/Marmite & Cheese sanga. (This is not a Marmite/Vegemite debate) I've not made my sandwich yet as I'm enjoying a few beers but I have:

    Fresh Brown Loaf,
    Onions,
    Bell Peppers (all colours)
    Lettuce,
    BBQ Chicken,
    Rosemary Crusted Ham,
    Onions,
    Colmans Mustard,
    Branston Pickle,
    Marmite XO,
    Extra Old Cheddar.

I think combining the lot would be over kill. I was originally going to go for the ham/mustard/onion & branstons option but there are more possibilities now.

    What would you guys suggest?
