I was out with a couple of Thai friends a few weeks ago, in Chiang Mai, and wasn't feeling to adventurous, so I went for what looked like a fairly innocuous Chicken soup.
Turned out to be a belter. Bit spicy, but not Tom Yum or Tom Ka, brown and transparent, no lemongrass, no coconut.
Bloody delicious. They told me the name but I can't remember, apparently it's of a northern style dish. "Tom Cha" ?
Anyone point me at the name and/or recipe?
