    Best coffee shop in Bangkok?

My vote goes to the Japanese chain, Kaldi. They are in JJ Mall, Esplanade, MBK and a new just down from the Robin Hood in that strange little Japanese soi. They always seem empty, and yet the coffee is fantastic. So good that I buy their ground coffee for my Gaggia at home.

Any others out there that I am missing?

There's a Mezzo coffee outlet in the Mayo hospital. Whilst awaiting the third installation of my new crown at the adjacent dentists department I splurged out on a hot Cappucino and an expensive slice of cheesecake. Bloody lovely the both. The coffee was hot not tepid as often happens and the cheesecake was absolutely perfect. A nice little treat.

    Which Gaggia, classic or dose?

I think for the money Verasu Peaberry is very good at only 220bht. Beat that starbucks crap.

I've been to many coffee shops, to many to list that are far better than SBks.

    Gaggia Classic.

Will have a taste of the Peaburry. I like the Kaldi one because it is roasted in Lat Krabang, and it is bloody fresh by the time you get it. Reminds me Segafredo which was my usual grind, but the Kaldi one is slightly stronger and a tad smoother. Very nice indeed; the crema is top draw, and I will often find myself inadvertently licking the remains from the side of the espresso cup at my desk lol

Amazon on the highway. A nice good kick from their coffee while on a road trip.

I try to avoid any of the large chain coffe shops.
One independant shop i do like is 'Viva' in S soi 8.
Pleasant staff, newspapers, glass of water served foc with your coffe.
    Good coffee to boot.
