    Gai Tord or Fried Chicken

    Gai Tord or Fried Chicken

Gai Tord or Fried Chicken must be one of the most popular food items in Thailand, just driving round the smaller Sois of any town or city you will find many many stalls set up to sell fried chicken, drum sticks from 10baht each to half a chicken at 50baht upwards, the choice is yours, you will also find the chicken feet are deep fried and for sale, although that is more of an Isaan thing than a Bangkok thing.

Looking at the golden brown skins of the chicken pieces below we can see why it is so popular, we won't go onto the all important questions of what oil is actually used to deep fry the chicken in, that may put us off a bit But it looks a lot more finger lickin' good than certain well known brands of of fried chicken with their secret recipes and fancy prices. So join us for a few bits of lovely fried chicken next time your passing by.

They all use palm oil. Boils at lower temperature and is good and healthy. It's old oil which is the problem, but the local oil is absolutely fine.
