| Milkman, it would save you the bother of apologising al the time, if you weren'[ so fukking curt to begin with. BTW I just ate a 3 egg omelette with cheese and sausage. Tonight I'm having a very big steak. Not such a tough diet this one. Haven't had a chip or a potato or a rice kernel in over 2 years.

| OK, I'm in. Yesterday I ate... A ham & cheese omelette. A green salad (no dressing) and some marinated beef strips. 3 'German sausages' wrapped in bacon. 1 cup of coffee (no milk). I presume the coffee is not allowed, but I'm not sure. |

I had. 2 pieces (small) of home made beef pie, a capsicum, handful of salted peanuts, smoked chicken breast no skin, beetroot and a small serving of chicken stirfry. Do I qualify or will I still be a fat bastard? | |

| Tounguin for a beer. | I too suffer at work with tons of food around. An army doesn't march on an empty stomach! Keep the boys fed well and they will sleep like babies! I have a cupboard right outside my room that is stocked full of chocolate bars, chips, snacks of all sorts! Plus the bloody chef is a French pastry chef and there is always a huge cake or something like it on the counter. The fridge is always full of sodas and beer and we have an unlimited budget for food I'm fokked! I do eat well though and sensibly but I am partial to a crunchie bar at night! I read a book called "Fit for Life" which had a lot of good info in it and if you follow it you will lose and keep weight off. It's all common sense. One thing I try and do is not mix carbs and protien so that means no potato with your steaks! I eat little at home and what I do eat is very good for you, just the beer puts the weight on. Of course the older you get the harder it is to keep weight off and it doesn't help sitting in front of a PC all day....

| Quote: Anyway, the glycemic index has been criticised for the following reasons: 1) the GI of a food varies depending on the kind of food, its ripeness, the length of time it was stored, how it was cooked, its variety (potatoes from Australia, for example, have a much higher GI than potatoes from the United States[citation needed]), and how it was processed or manufactured. 2) the GI of a food varies from person to person and even in a single individual from day to day, depending on blood glucose levels, insulin resistance, and other factors. 3) the GI of a mixed meal can be difficult to predict. 4) the GI value is based on a portion that contains 50 grams of carbohydrate only. 5) a limited range of data and daily fluctuations in an individual’s glycemic response. 6) lack of endorsement by the American Diabetes Association. (It is however, endorsed by the Canadian Diabetes Association.)
