The Saga of the Terry's Chocolate Orange

There is one thing that I miss and need in the New Years holidays and that a Terry's Chocolate Orange.

In the west, no problem, but out here they just don't sell them.

So on Christmas eve I decided to create my own Terry's Chocolate Croissant!

    All you need is this

The combination or marmalade and chocolate sauce is the idea.

Get one of these to toast it in. This one came free with my wedding.

Dont buy this!!!!!!! It's a hundred baht more than the rest of them so you would think its gonna be good. It tastes like shit!

Then just cut your croissant in half length ways and spread some orange on one side and some chocolate on the other.

    2 Crabs having a fight!

Looks a bit gross but it was bloody lovely.

Then on New Years Day a good friend of mine bought me 2 Terry's Chocolate Oranges from England. I was so happy that I gave half of one Orange to al the people that were sat around me!

Then I got stupidly drunk and left the further 1 and a half oranges in the car.

This is bad territory for a Terry's Chocolate Orange as the tend to melt.

A few days later I remembered and stuck it in the fridge but it was fucked.

I hacked at it a few time with a meat cleaver but all I managed to do do was scratch my work surface and make a mess o the Orange.

Then I had the bright idea to melt the whole thing down and start again.

The oven idea didn't work because it kind of baked it, A hard crust formed because I was posting on Teakdoor and forgot about it. When I remembered I put it on the stove and made it into a noice liquid.

Once it was flowing smooth I transferred the contents into the ice box!

A few minuets later and here we have it.

    Terry's Chocolate Orange Cubes!!!!!!!

    Beat that Terry!!!!

You shouldn't be let near the oven or meat cleavers when drunk

Now you have them into cubes though, you could make some Belgian Beer Liquers

    ^^ or sobre...

^ think of the cost to make them here in LOS! a Leffe and Terry's Choc Orange treat would cost about 500 baht per bar; can get similar at Foodland for about 200 baht.

The cost is not important. The Terry's Chocolate Orange is!

I've got to admit that the cubes are a bit 'grainy', I'll work on it and have them perfect for next year!

^ Americans are always confused - they might like an easier, less complex example...

^ The Title is a bit confusing

Most regular readers on here won't open this thread, due to the fear of it referring to Terry 57 and the Adventures of his blood orange of a Blurter

That streamline jam is my favorite, cheaper in price per weight and more flavor than the competitors.

Papillion won't be interested in this thread unless he read it as The Saga of Terry's Chocolate Starfish...

WTF is that? A Terry's Chocolate orange is supposed to be shaped like, well, an orange:

You might as well go for Orange Aero if you're not going to have the real thing.

They are shaped like oranges, when you take the wrapper off, there are about 6 slices

Buy 2 bars and you might be able to form a globe, if that floats your boat Arry

For future reference, pot of boiling water with a smaller bowl inside, drop the chocolate into the smaller bowl... wait 5 mins, voila - melted chocolate

I want a Terry's Choc Orange now... bastards! The Mint one looks interesting!
