    Big Garden Rocks

Anyone know where to get some large rocks for a garden ? Talking like a metre or two wide, in a permanent position type boulders. What prices are we talking about ? Just the name and address of a decent supplier in the Pattaya / Chonburi / Chantaburi area would be a good start.

They are sold by the kilo, something that big would be a good few thousand baht, I think you would be looking at 10 to 20 k baht,

a place on the way from Pattaya to Naklua has a few big ones, on the right about 500 meters before you get to the traffic lights in Naklua.

Hell, did not know they cost that much, i have tons of big sandstone and volcanic rocks, all over a metre and a half, bought a big chunk of land and these were left there, going to use some to build a koi pond, if you were close to buriram you could of had a few.

Fuck those rocks!! They dont know how to move them. Drop a huge bugger off at my front gate. How the hell was I suppose to get it in the right place? Think before you buy a big un like the wife did.

It took out big hunks of lawn and a nice small mound with plants at our house. Those babies are fcuking heavy!! And the odd shapes make it impossible to get more than 3 or 4 people to pick them up.

Thais are master rock makers !

Just let some worker make you a false rock the size you wish were you wish, with the form you wish...

Every zoo is full of those false stones made by concrete and a steel structure...

They look really real rocky !

they do dynausors on demand as well...

I trained my main dog to bring back rocks, behind us used to be jungle but then they cleared the land and infilled it, for a couple of years I would pick up rocks and throw them for him to chase everyday, he used to bring them back to the shop house, these were nice yellowish ones, we must have a couple of tonnes now, but as all the houses have been built he now tends to pick up stones and lumps of concrete in his mouth to bring back, still it's better than the small white fluffy dog who likes to drag dead animals back I suppose.

Who was it that said "give me a lever and a place to stand and I can move the world"? You can roll those babies easy. I spent an entire summer in Wyoming rolling boulders. The trick is to get a metal tool called a "cheater bar" - basically, the axle of an old car will do. Just stab that mutherfocker under the rock and lift. Gravity takes care ot itself. If you have a little patience you can sit it in the exact place that you want.

... then again, there is the problem of lifting the boulder into your truck. You can make your children do that part.

Back the truck into a ditch, tailgate will be level with top of ditch on far side. Lever rock into truck. Secure rock. Repeat until truck is loaded. Drive off. Just make sure you pick a good spot in the ditch and don't underestimate the payload of them there rocks. 1 m^3 of rock will average about 2 tonnes.
