    The Captain's snake

    Captain,

I think I remember you posting a couple of years ago, on a different forum , some informative stuff on all the types of snakes out here.

Over the last week or two there has been quite a few snakes sunning themselves on the road around my house and was wondering do you still have that info or links to it?

    Cheers

that's probably why the snakes are out there, trying to get some heat

I like Nong Kai - do you eat at the Danish Bakers?

I go to Nong Kai and Beung Khan once a year or so. Good places

Used to have a season ticket for the Danish, Kai is a good friend of mine, but since his wife did the dirty on him and pushed him out, and the recent influx of scandahooligans, I very rarely go there. Kai's down in Udon now.

I was afraid to open up this thread while I was at work. With the title that it had I thought there might be a naughty picture or two. However, the last think I wanted to see was the Captain's "snake". Luckily, you were only talking about Nong Khai.

I've been up there a few times. Loved it. If your ever in those parts I recommned vistiting that national park with pictogryphs and and old stone buildings that look like giant mushrooms. The place was surrealistic.

Last time I was there at the Danish B the same people were sitting in the same seats as last time I was there - although there was a few big tatooed men there as well.

I never knew the original owner had moved on.

Do you know Dennis or Robin from Beung Khan then?

Yeah Dennis from UK but used to live in Norway building swimming pools.

Stayed a couple of times at his old guest house. He's sold it now.

Last saw him middle of last year at the Danish.

Don't know a Robin from Bung Kan, but I do know a Robin from Udon who used to have Robin's Nest bar/restaurant.

His ability to smoke a rollie, roll up a rollie in his left hand, roll up a rollie in his right hand, drink a beer, and tell you that he still hadn't found a night watchman for his guest house, after 3 years of trying, is the endearing quality of Dennis!

Hi Gallowspole, yeah I remember that at the old forum. I was actually quite surprised at its popularity. I just had a lookee look for it and I cant seem to find it at the now defunct forum but from memory I found most of the info by simpy googling 'Snakes of Thailand'.
Here is a link that I found the same way.

Thanks for that. I think one of the buggers was a reticulated python.

The original info you posted was excellent with info about toxicity, habitat, etc. Shame it's lost in cyber space.

No recipes though, if I remember rightly!
