It's cheaper to rent. Can get a nice house for the equivalent of thirty years rent, so better to have money in the bank until one snuffs it.

We will rent while renovating a house we already own. Money in the bank is one's best friend.
Do you know Cyrille and his wife, or just have a habit of answering for people?

No, I'll wait until the pound recovers, or the baht falls, before I transfer much cash. We already have a house to live in so only need cash for cars.

I am a lot older than forty. It's comforting to know that I have lived as long as I have. Many die before they get to my age so I cannot complain.

It's people like you I worry about, Luigi. You could drop dead tomorrow and effectively miss out on lots of things. The benefit of being old is that you are still alive and have done lots of stuff. You, Luigi, have to concentrate on staying alive and worrying about that could be stressful enough to kill you.

I've been unreliably informed that Luigi is a lot older that he appears on TD. A lot older.

Why would anyone buy farmland in Thailand for 300.000 to 400.000 bath when your typical return is 3000 bath a year. That is a return of 1% or less a year and you have to work for it. If you look at that return you, your children and grandchildren have to work this land and maybe if you have all the good luck in the world that means no bad harvest, no flooding, no storm damage ect. It will be paid for in 100 years. Good luck Chico
