    Clearing 1/2 rai of land

We had a woman today clearing 1/2 of land on euca plantation, i wanted to see how long it would take as we have 25 rai to clear.

The land is mostly weeds and grass, and needs to be done before the rain comes?nothing more than chest height

Myself and my FIL cleared it a few years ago but then it was dense jungle, took us a day

How many hours would you say it would take a person to clear.?

I'm asking because i can be a hard task master and want to be sure before i decide if burn back is a option which stunts the growth for sometime

If You are a hard task master go out and do a Rai yourself then you can judge the lady, never ask or expect more than you can do yourself.

done it many times before, no one is judging anyone, just trying to see what the best way to do it, in the shortest amount of time and cost.

In the south it's done with chainsaws and a back hoe. Twenty rai of over age rubber in 2 weeks.
Another 2 weeks clearing the debris and burning done by hand.

thats exactly what i am doing, just making wind breaks at this moment.

I found the energy to go and do some myself, trouble doing such projects around were we are, they know how to make jobs last, i do the same myself in the UK.

So i am burning in small lots.

Rs the euca are for sale anytime anyone gives a good price, i would prefer to sell in lots, rather than a job lot, to be honest i would like to sell now, as once the rain comes the price comes down per tonne, as the rain makes them heavier, the buyers prices are creeping up slowly presently.
Saying that not in any rush to sell, just that the growth is better when there cut.

Worked out well clearing the land, there was a plot of land that i wanted to clear away all the smaller trees as they were restricting the growth of others, guy came around last night and offered to buy the timber from the land, there had of been other others but this guy topped them all by 5000 baht.

Shook his hand quickly, deposit paid cuts on Saturday.

Anyone around Korat that knows the price of Euca per tonne for timber?

Just been informed the guy who bought are Euca is selling it somewhere near to Korat, he has a ten tonne car, and he must be getting a very good price for it, he's only cutting one car load a day, the petrol alone must be a fair old wack for one trip a day.

Is that because you pay more for petrol for 1 trip a day instead of 2?

    Good morning William

The cost per tonne must be a lot better price in korat, than around were we live, which was why i asked the question.

The cost of his petrol and travel time must be, a fair whack of his profit.

the cost he bought the timber from us for is a significant factor on how much profit he makes.

Not my business really though just interested in the price per tonne and how many cars he takes from the land.

    For future reference.

Hope this explanation makes sense for your good self.

Should you require additional information please don't hesitate to come back and ask.

    Have a wonderful. ..........
