I have a Bundaberg and homebrew beer hangover. We got home late and she slept 12 hours straight through. (I envy their ability to do that).
Took 2 Tylenol before bed and 2 more when I got up. Bacon and egg banjo and orange juice now.
Life just coming back into focus slowly.

I had to Google that banjo Chas, I see it dates back to WW 1.

Have you got a mug of gunfire with that?

Served by seniors to juniors who are on duty Christmas morning. Tea with scotch added.

You can fry eggs on the engine cover of a tank. Can't beat white bread covered in mucky fingerprints filled with runny fried egg. Tea and a wad.

    Bogon tip #576

If going food shopping, I drink as above, but do not get home until 5am.

Wake the missus up and take her to Foodland (24hrs open). She can get all the stuff she wants to her hearts content whilst I have my breakfast and then whizz round on my own in 3 minutes flat getting the stuff that I need.

If the wife doesn't want to go shopping that early, just come home later.

    Sorted.

I might not win "Husband of the Year", but I get shit done.
    Black diamonds? I shit 'em.

Got a bacterial infection from running 13 days in a row, even though I wore clean and appropriate running wear and showered daily. It was so sudden, too: I finished running last Saturday, went to bed and woke up with a serious case of jock itch.

So for 3 days did the in-house treatment. But postules turned up so went to the doc. The dermatologist gave me antibiotics in pill form (Cravit) and a topical antibiotic (Fusidic acid). He set a follow-up in 5 days.

By then the postules were so big I wanted them drained (but the pain was turning into an itch around the periphery so I was confident in the treatment plan). The doctor agreed about the drainage so off to see the surgeon. I got a look at the wound when he finished and before he covered it and it wasn't bleeding so I got a good look: an inch across, an inch deep, an inch long. Doctor said "That's going to be one hell of a scar." What about stitches, says, I? "Well, not at this time b/c it's a drainage hole. Maybe later." But I felt a great relief because he drained all of the existing water and blood. I see him in one week.

No long term effects: should be able to run again in a month. He said I could lift light weights for my upper body right now. Heavy weights usually involve a total body effort and that would put undue strain on the wound. But he had no problem with me walkin' around: so I walked home from surgery.
“The Master said, At fifty, I knew what were the biddings of Heaven. At sixty, I heard them with docile ear. At seventy, I could follow the dictates of my own heart; for what I desired no longer overstepped the boundaries of right.”

    ^ jock itch is fungal.

Never mind it will turn into cellulitis or septicemia which are bacterial.

    Maybe you had Prickly heat?

Prickly heat rash, also called miliaria, is a rash that can develop after a person sweats far more than usual and sweat glands become blocked.
Could your swelling have been blocked sweat glands?

^Yeah, mate. All good. Not broken. He was back at TKD this morning. Cheers.

He wasn't even sparring. He was holding a kickpad for another guy, got distracted, and let it slip down and the kick came over the top and nailed him square. Lesson learned.

Knock it off. It ain't funny, except for all the prescribed painkillers. But I had been getting them anyway. 150 tramadol 100 mg, 120 alprozolam .5 mg (plus 80 I already had), 100 diazepam 10 mg, Ultracet to my heart's content, ativan also. I can get them all refilled within 3-4 weeks. My, my. And, BTW, I've been prescribed Cravit and Fusidic Acid for the infection. Look it up.

Surely at that stage it would not have been fungal anymore. My guess is that it would have been bacterial....one of the staphylococci types, festering away and gradually achieving consciousness.

But if your doc gave you strong anti-fungals and they work, must be that.

By the sounds of it, WJB should change his username to 'pharmacy' or GSK for short.
